Contrarian - many thanks but as balance, I was lucky to get out of Connaught at 325 ish, very lucky, I had a lot in there. I was also lucky to get out of Findel. Saying that, was I lucky to take a hit on Findel? Or perhaps following the rules.

Likewise, I learnt the mirco-managers of society don't do themselves any favours and don't invest in debt, please remember the latter.

Fraser atb,

I view your strike rate with great respect. So either way by Dec-March we shall all be profitable in this stock.

Good Evening,

TurboTrader - Isn't it Pardon? :-) Perhaps it was just some late trades!

SLV is in a crucial point at the moment, so volatility and news are likely to drive it.

Good Morning,

Just a thought going round my head...how many times has there been a large increase in volume, a small spike and the news at a later date which becomes the driver? Hmmmm...In my experience it happens a lot, a prime example being CHL (Churchill Mining), which did exactly the same then the news of NTPC (The Tata Subsidiary). One for the patient one's at CHL...and no don't buy just because you've read about it, actually sell, I could do with a top up lmao...

Have a good Thursday!

FJP: Yes, was thinking it may be easier for them to improve their production numbers by way of acquisition. Especially if SLV is as cheap as we consider it is.

Good Evening you impatient lot :-) Fancy wanting a top up lol....

I believe the Rand will strengthen because of the backing it has from commodities, similar to AUD (Australian Dollar), although saying that, with the dip in $, it could be rather complex, so I'm actually going to say for SLV's purpose, what the USD gives, the ZAR (South African Rand) will take away, thus a stalemate. All good really...sort of acts as a hedge. Hope that explains it.

The one thing that is slowly proving me wrong is my belief that SLV wont be taken out before Xmas and I'll have to eat my hat! It's not a tasty hat either! :-).

Bones – thanks for the article, that could either take AQP (Aquarius Platinum) out the race for SLv as they'll need to spend some considerable cash on Blue Ridge or they'll buy SLV to then utilise cash generation to pay for a revamp...thanks though, nothing is ever clear cut...why oh why oh why!!Moan Moan lol

Have a good evening ATB Fraser

Stu - lets see if I have to pay over 50p+. It usually does go up before I buy and down straight after but hey ho such is life. Thats why I am trying to invest in fundamentals lol.

No JLP can stay where it wants until we get cracking with the conroast facility.

Thinking about the Rand, is it likely to be stronger in the next few months, someone certainly thinks the USD is going to be weaker (see the price of gold lately).

Also with a weaker dollar, perhaps the Platinum price will strengthen in the same was as gold, oil etc?

Excuse my simplistic thinking!

Dont knock it embrace it and buy more. Excellent opportunity at the moment IMO. The question is will I get my wish and get to top up at pay day. Only a week to wait.

Our problem isn't forward looking earnings expectations or anything to do with confidence in the management it is purely the persistant seller who wants to sell everything he owns around 50p! VERY VERY frustrating holding SLV when we have a lid on the price. There must be a reason why this guy is still in the house.
