All over bar the shouting, end of listing in Mid Jan.

Sumo and Tencent Bidco are pleased to announce that, on 13 December 2021 (Eastern Standard Time) , CFIUS confirmed that it has concluded all action with respect to the Acquisition subject to the implementation of certain arrangements designed to mitigate the risks to the national security of the United States that CFIUS has determined arise as a result of the Acquisition.

Interesting to see it trading at a big discount to the bid price. Presumably market is still thinking some external factor could still scupper things?

full agree Dav0s, the markets are all over the place but there is only a small downside to a larger potential possible upside for me, it is worth holding tight as this moves towards the finalisation date... all other possible suiters will be scrambling to value SUMO to ensure that this transaction will not hurt them more than any cost associated with a bid themselves

Codemasters was recently taken over and a few bids came in... i will be holding this to completion rather than a quick sale as there is potential for another quicknpound a share

You are correct, that's what they do mainly. I made money from KWS way back but its gone nowhere in a long time really and I havent touched them for 1-2 years. They are much more open to a downturn and have limited upside. Where is their HOOD going to come from? Sumo balance both with upside with some of their own IP. KWS are a pure services company in my view and on a high PE, not to mention a founding director sold a lot of shares recently.

Most of these own IP games barely cover costs and never build a player base. Once in a while a game takes off and they hit the jackpot, HOOD hasn't hit the jackpot (yet) and may never do, but its sold a lot more copies and expected and well into the black. It's not a perfect AAA game, but it was never intended to be, it's smashed expectations.

I'm sure you know where to look for activity for yourself. I am written myself a not to not buy anymore, I have quite a lot now but with an average price way lower. Good luck.

Thanks for the reply. I I thought KWS only provided out sourcing for other parts of the industry and all the big developers. But I guess they have being buying a lot of companies in the last few years. I will have to look at Hood. My Sumo holding might need to be topped up if there is a pull back.

I dont see it happening anytime soon if at all (was a bit tongue in cheek). When SUMO was born people speculated they would end up under the KWS umbrella one day. My point is, they are now only 3 times smaller than KWS and about to explode, they will hit a big growth point over the next 2 years. These own IP games are generally very small and have little impact, even SUMO's games follow this pattern, that's changed with HOOD. I mention my market cap view of HOOD above.

Bought another 15k today. Building a sizable stake! Outlaws is going to have a big impact on earnings, much much bigger that forecast. It was always said KWS would end up buying Sumo but I believe Sumo have the more balanced and better strategy and might end up snapping up KWS in the future, certainly they are having far better results and outlook.

As Christmas approaches I expect Games Developers to make good progress on their share prices. Why Sumo over others - well for me my initial investment was after Tencent took a stake in 2019, one of the biggest investors in Games Developers globally and they own a fair few of them outright too. To me this investment - around 10% - has operated under the radar but the recent growth in share price has the Tencent factor as a contributory reason I feel.

Sumo presenting on Mello Monday tonight, a well-respected forum for PIs. So after this evening we may finally get some company here to make valuable contributions to this thread.

So the boost to the Sumo share price today may have been a double whammy of EA bidding for CDM and Sumo having top billing on tonight's investor event.
