01/7/2016 11:07 | Get your point Football! However perhaps looking at the whites of their eyes and asking questions about a potential placement might garner something. I suspect many of us are comfortable with the timing of a deal being whenever this year ... so long as a potential deal is in the offing ... but yes, any actual knowledge of a deal is of course 'sensitive information'. | hugus maximus
01/7/2016 09:45 | You can ask all you like about negotiations at the AGM but it's price sensitive information and they will just stonewall you with we can't say the first we will know about any negotiations will be a spike in the share price as it always does when news is about to be released or be out of the blue RNS | football
01/7/2016 09:42 | Sorrento06 - If we don't have any news of negotiations before the AGM, (18th July) at least that will be an opportunity to ask the BOD for updates? | hugus maximus
01/7/2016 07:38 | An update on negotiations would be nice, if no deal is going to be announced. | sorrento06
29/6/2016 17:31 | A piece on the BBC website "A new treatment for a rare muscle wasting disease could be available within five years, an Oxford University researcher has said." (i.e. Dame Kay Davies) The end of the article brings up the point that Dame K is convinced Ezutromid will also help people suffering from Becker Muscular Dystrophy which effects the same number of people as DMD. | hugus maximus
28/6/2016 16:14 | A bit like Foxton's putting profit warning on Friday saying brexit was to blame even though it was for the six months previous | football
28/6/2016 16:07 | I'm wondering if the CEO will use the excuse of Brexit limiting EU funding to justify having to do a placing soon? | someuwin
28/6/2016 08:22 | Interesting note above Football. I can't access the actual web address but wonder if Glyn's quote should read : 'he said "WITH certainty UK funding will replace that source of capital" ' The USA are not the most eloquent users of the English language which is why I wonder if the grammar as quoted is wrong to suggest he is NOT certain about funding? I wonder if what he was attempting to say is that they have no worries about funding? i.e. Completely the opposite of that statement! GLA HM | hugus maximus
27/6/2016 11:08 | Glyn Edwards, chief executive of Summit Therapeutics PLC, a 37-employee biotech company near Oxford, England, said the vote’s outcome “will probably accelerate our investment more in the U.S. as we wait for the uncertainty here to sort itself out.” The company also may eventually lose access to some pan-European biotech investments, he said, with no certainty U.K. funding will replace that source of capital. | football

26/6/2016 17:58 | Read the article in the Belfast telegraph written by a "remainer" or you can find it on the lloy BB 178556. This result for a BREXIT shows just how much the elite in this country and around Europe have totally lost touch with huge swathes of their respective populations, "sacrificed" on the altar of globalization. Now that the people have spoken, it would be a very dangerous gamble by Parliament if it tried to nullify the result in any way, unless the EU were to come forward with concrete, enforceable proposals to change direction, which could be put again to the UK public along with the rest of Europe, no doubt requiring major Treaty change. As I have said previously, IMO the blame can be laid directly at the feet of the EU/27 elite, who gambled EU unity on an expected vote to remain, and by refusing to listen to the growing tide around Europe against it's direction. This is very much NOT "little Englander's" but more a rebellion that has begun for change. Their credibility is "shot" now that BREXIT has won, with the six founder members seemingly agreeing that Europe NOW needs to take account of their peoples wishes. Much has been made of the supposed age divide in how the vote went, but I fail to see why the majority of our youth, who have been and would still be the most disadvantaged group for many many years, have been deemed the losers by a BREXIT. Surely they haven't been seduced by the prospect of cheap roaming fees and a fear of more expensive holidays, against the never ending pressure that will continue to threaten their jobs/living standards, as the EU marches on with it's continuing expansion plans and globalization? | kmjs
26/6/2016 17:44 | Well I'd rather be lied to in English as opposed to Flemish, at least then I can understand and prepare for when the pain and heartache are about to commence. | harvey haddock
26/6/2016 16:58 | Sensible calm discussion here - so far. AGM soon so good opportunity for questioning about threats/opportunitie I wonder how many EU mainland and Ireland companies will be set up over the coming months…ooh and not forgetting Scotland ;) | visionon
26/6/2016 16:46 | Can't disagree with that either but we are still in the grieving process and at present have NO stable political leadership. We do however still have a PM so lets hope he and Osborne (v quiet) can at least give an air of stability in the short term. However I don't think the markets are to have a happy week ahead, especially Sterling. Doubly so as companies start announcing job loses and HQ moves. | waterloo01
26/6/2016 16:41 | Agree with most of that, waterloo. Overall, the Remain campaign was lack lustre. I still believe the Markets and Business in general needs to see the UK start working on a new agreement with the EU as future partners outside the EU, not dragging their heels and kicking the political can down the road in the hope it will fall into a drain and float away. That will only enrage the people who won the vote - and frustrate the EU and the Markets. That is the reconciliation process IMO. Obviously a lot depends on the front bench team that starts negotiations and there are some I would not want to see leading the line ! | luminoso |
