04/6/2009 09:58 | Everything about the debt situation is in the public domain, I bought yesterday at 14.5p adding to a few I bought in canada a few weeks ago. This is a producing company with good assets and high debts, at worse I see this being taken over, otherwise a good reward over the next few years. | royaloak
04/6/2009 09:51 | rathkum - I do not detect malice in Bartender's report, merely concern. However, I believe the company is taking the right measures to avoid that scenario barring a further nasty downturn in the sector. | steelwatch
04/6/2009 09:44 | Any whiff of impending financial problems would be reflected in the share price weakness. The markets obviously doesn't share your sense of concern. Why put so much effort into unearthing this negative if you are not now a holder. If it is for our benefit thank you as it is nice to know you care. | rathkum
04/6/2009 08:34 | Bartender18,I cannot find any prior posts of yours hence my question.Without any track record to give your posts credibility I remain sceptical. We are aware of shortterm financial constraints and the debt problem but believe these will be resolved. | sg31
04/6/2009 02:24 | really its not my first post, i was warned tonight 3/06 to be very careful AD/MIN is not far away, they cannot pay their bills. | bartender18
03/6/2009 23:49 | From last week's MDA "In addition, as the Company does not currently have sufficient liquidity to meet its expenditure obligations and scheduled debt repayments in mid-2009, it has reached an agreement with its bank syndicate to defer certain near-term debt repayments until later in 2009. It has also reached agreement in principle with the bank syndicate, subject to credit approval, for the provision of additional debt availability in the period before disposal proceeds are expected to be received, provided certain conditions are satisfied." Not out of the woods but on the right path. I don't see SE getting anywhere near 100mm for Breagh but whatever the final number is --it will go a long way combined with full W. Don production - to allow them to move foreard with operations. If oil prices continue to strengthen - we should be happy we stayed with them by end of 2010 and 2011. ifu | ifudrillittheywillcome
03/6/2009 23:05 | To be fair, bartender is right. Stratic has a massive debt due largely to share of West Don Development costs, Breagh appraisal, and other back costs, exacerbated by the recent aborted Cairngorm appraisal. These are being addressed via sale/farm downs of assets as previously mentioned and West Don production going forward. It has been suggested that Breagh alone could sell for $1bn fetching $100m (10%) towards righting the ship. Obviously, the lenders will want to see progress. | steelwatch
03/6/2009 20:08 | On your bike bartender18, where have you been watching from. The sky. | rathkum
03/6/2009 19:56 | Hi bartender is that your first ever post on ADVFN? | sg31
03/6/2009 19:53 | Be careful on SE. there are rumors about funding difficulties, new ones not old ones, just a warning take as you like. I'm not a holder, but have been watching for a while. | bartender18
03/6/2009 15:52 | Thanks. I thought they had hired a communications firm over there to help with exposure. Guess they still need to prove that they are positioned forgrowth from here. I bot a bunch more @ 8/9/10 cents U.S. when W. Don #1 was in. Maybe #2 plus Bowmore/Syria/ Asset sales will change some minds. ifu | ifudrillittheywillcome
03/6/2009 14:51 | ifu - the large spread is indicative only and will narrow when there is significant trading. It is usually easy to buy/sell well within the spread. The aborted Cairngorm drill did not go down well here, along with the credit crunch. Hopefully, future events will attract more attention. | steelwatch
03/6/2009 14:39 | Help me out here guys. Why is there such little volume and larger spreads om AIM?? Is this just a normal thig for stocks on this exchange? Almost impossible to trade? Or is this a problem with the company doing a poor job generating interest over there? ifu | ifudrillittheywillcome
03/6/2009 08:14 | Think I have got this all wrong, it is a sets stock, so just put an order on the bid at 14.5, compares to 15.5 close in canada. | royaloak
03/6/2009 08:03 | fp - if you are just in for a quick profit, good luck. However, with the Bowmore drill, sale of Breagh, farm down/sale of Longanesi, Turkish deeper water developments/sale, Syrian drill later this year, Crawford development, Cairngorm famdown and appraisal, Horizon appraisal etc., all to come in the next couple of years, there should be a significant re-rating and all this comes on top of West Don moving to full production (4300 bopd during Q3) underpinning operations and with oil now close to $70. | steelwatch
03/6/2009 07:37 | Not just now, but i have looked at my profit as being based on the TSX bid price, not the UK price, which I know is wrong ! | father_paul
03/6/2009 06:25 | The killer for me will be, come the time to sell, being offered something just a litle better than the market maker bid quote. Yesterday the quote was 11.0 to 13.75 What I'll try to do is to get a quote to sell after UK market close based on the TSX quote. Has anyone, here in the UK, managed to get their online broker to deal for them using the TSX quote after 4:30pm? | father_paul
02/6/2009 22:38 | Nice to be on a good ship at last................ | hermana
