14/9/2022 07:10 | STM is worth MUCH more as a take over candidate than as a small PLC. This was demonstrated by the price they paid for their recent acquisition! If the BOD Apple the same multipels on their own businesses, the shares are worth well north of 50p - potentially 70p. | baner
14/9/2022 06:29 | Maintenance of dividend is a positive and the report is a little better than I anticipated. | clocktower
24/8/2022 16:49 | say 4% of AUM. | russman
17/8/2022 10:04 | most of the assets I believe they don't manage them rather they safe hold them charging a fee to do so | smithie6
16/8/2022 16:28 | Presume you value as % of AUM. | russman
10/8/2022 09:44 | ...share price has bounced back a little | smithie6
04/8/2022 10:00 | Smithie6 - you ask what is going to change to get results in post 1277. Well in answer to that I would suggest one thing that is meant to do that, is the Acquisition of the SIPP a SSAS business from Mercer Ltd for £3.34 million, planned on 31.08.2022 - other acquisitions in this area could follow. Another thing is the replacement of Board Members and in particular the Chairman. A new Chairman can have such a positive effect and if in harmony with the CEO can really impact the business in a very positive manner. So once the detailed trading statement is presented soon after the completion of Premier Pensions, there maybe light at the end of the tunnel and the information may even attract new potential investors, as the share price has fallen so far, or a takeover. While you may view todays statement as negative, I see it as facing up to reality and the important thing stated in the RNS is: "However, the pipeline remains encouraging and therefore management believe that their 2022 overall profit expectations will be met." In light of this it is now oversold imo. | clocktower
04/8/2022 09:55 | Shocking indeed. To lose one director (the new FD) may be regarded as misfortune, to lose two (the Senior NED) looks like carelessness, but to lose three (the Chairman) looks like ..insert your own disaster noun! It looks very like all these individuals saw the need to leave to protect their reputations. I see that Companies House shows Berryman resigned from both STMs Life Insurance companies in May so he's probably been planning to jump ship for a while but its rather sudden to do it before the AGM like this. The CEOs barbed comments about new directors suggest a disagreement on strategy but perhaps some deeper troubles exist. In most other firms the CEO as the apparent common denominator in all this would have been fired by now but as he owns such a chunk of the company you can see how that might be difficult. | lundun42
04/8/2022 07:25 | Disappointing. Did a small top-up based on the obvious (balance sheet) but also on Peter G's presence on the register and Alan Kentish's need to do a Rishi Sunak; "whatever it takes"! :- / | value hound
04/8/2022 07:14 | With regards to trading, the first half of the year has continued to be slower than anticipated largely because of new business revenues in the UK taking longer to materialise than predicted. So, one assumes that none of the possible sizeable deals was landed. :-( What are they going to change to get results ? | smithie6
04/8/2022 07:11 | well, if the co. can't start performing & soon (we have waited, & waited) then the shareholders will surely ask for the co. to be sold so we can get our investment back. And that would surely be at a notably higher price, hopefully ! | smithie6
04/8/2022 06:40 | Oh dear, shocking. Glad i dumped this a few months ago in the 30s. Condolences to shareholders | scepticalinvestor
04/8/2022 06:28 | Very disappointing and worrying RNS this morning. I cannot remember a company I have invested in having such a turnover in directors. To be taken over may now be a desirable option | camerongd53
03/8/2022 07:12 | Russman you are absolutely right and STM should of course look after the best interest of its shareholders by putting itself up for sale: 40-60p in values here. | baner
30/7/2022 08:10 | It's the AGM at 10am on Thursday (1st Floor, 21 Perrymount Road, Haywards Heath, RH16 3TP). Anyone planning to attend? | value hound
27/7/2022 18:00 | got to think a bit bigger deals or sell themselves to another consolidator. | russman
26/7/2022 23:34 | Market cap is only £15m. And this platform business is all about economies of scale. Investing £1-2m a year on deals would be very accretive. | pdosullivan
26/7/2022 21:40 | but, have they got any loan money left to use to buy any more growth !!?? phps not. | smithie6
26/7/2022 19:11 | A fair deal in the long run. Appears STM have decided to buy growth, | russman
26/7/2022 14:49 | ...but as I see it they haven't got the money to pay "for a pipeline of deals" | smithie6
26/7/2022 12:57 | As with all of these platforms it is about scale. The deal announced today doubles the size of the Options business in the UK. If management can identify a pipeline of similar bolt on deals across its geographies this would be transformative to earnings. | pdosullivan
26/7/2022 12:54 | They are paying less than 4x EBIT for it. It will be earnings accretive in a matter of months. | pdosullivan
26/7/2022 07:24 | well, the share price is up 1p. happy to see any price rise ! | smithie6
26/7/2022 07:23 | ...over the last 0-3 years the co. has not delivered much/any organic growth in turnover and/or profit, I think. That needs to change if the share price is gonna go up noticeably. | smithie6 |
