Small beer perhaps but a 13% plus, holding in Kier Group with all their problems suggest SLA has quite a mixed...good and bad portfolio...but as I say...small beer in the scheme of things. Anyway, a good recovery so far and Flint buying a few may help...must admit he held his hand for a rather better price than what some of us have bought/added...221p pretty clever, hopefully.

I'm not so sure it's SLA specific, Aviva just completed a buyback and they've fallen from 540s to 370s.

It is strange that the company share buy back has not supported the share price . At least the company will buy back shares cheaply and it is better to have good dividends in the future with less number of shares. Something is going on here , for sure with this one.

I'm very tempted by AV, may try to hang on hoping for the 360's,
may not happen.

Aviva have recently completed a share buy back, personally I'd have preferred the cash...

I think AV. may be the better bet long term as they seem to have been sensible with their pile of cash and are willing to use it to improve the business unlike SLA who are buying shares in a falling market which is drastically reducing the issued share capital.
The AUM outflows are also concerning and may start to cause real problems if they continue at the same rate.
It is difficult to see if the dividend can be maintained because of the ongoing major change in shares issued and the like for like eps etc may be hard, for me anyway , to fully interpret as regards the performance on an ongoing basis. This years headline rates may be somewhat irrelevant.

Agree. I've moved to income bias over the last year as I'm not getting younger. Some of these just now are too tempting longer term.

I think AV. is also cheap at this time and I have been adding to my dividend portfolio.....there's that many cheap stocks it's great for income investors.

EI and others agree with your comments/warnings...the new Chairman really does need to get a grip PDQ, and I believe that he will make some positive changes. The company certainly needs to restore confidence/culture at the top management level, and that means changes are afoot. My holding is looking rather tattered and not happy in this vacuum. So sad after all those quite positive brokers views...makes one wonder!

Sitting 3p above the issue price of 12 years ago and halved in price since the merger. TRAGIC!

When I posted a few times previously it may pay to be cautious and wait,
have to admit did not see these levels.

I thought Keith's comment at the last update, to the effect of ..as long
as he was having a blast in his current role that was the main thing,
gave an insight in to the culture here.

That one comment, more than anything else out me off buying here.

Mentioned it here at the time.

A bunch of monkeys will do better than the people in SLA in handling pension money. Feel like they are very lazy and passive managers there in the company. they still have two heads and this will cause confusion in leadership and bad performance. Surely share at this level, investors will have to do something about the management.
