Still a long term hold for me, i'll not be rushing to sell at 90p, we knew this was coming after all.

There's also the issue of how quickly they can turn over the existing stock at whatever prices can realistically be achieved. Its impractical to keep adding stock without selling what they already have.

Stock is being valued at historic cost. Should it not be being valued at the lower of historic cost and realisable value?

MM's alreay marked down by some 10% Back of an envelope quick and dirty appears ntav now £38 million or some 80p per share taking stock at cost - The BIG question is "What is the disposal value of the stock" ?

I do believe book value, and they have no need of a fire sale ( though I did learn that they had a no-reserve, "get rid of the stock" sale at Mallett a few months ago). If they take their time, the stock remains very valuable. However, they need time. Simon Thompson says that the £50m of stock has a retail value of £150m. Well, at £6m per half year, say £12m per year, that means they have 12 years of stock !!!! ( that is a gross simplifivcation as it mixes in coins, antiques etc)

I will write a longer piece later. These are disastrous, not because they have thrown in the kitchen sink, but because they show how sales have been affected. Stamps sales fallen AGAIN to just £6m in the first half. They say this is down 40%, but last interims they said stamp sales were £15.5m? I must see what the difference in reporting is.

Visits to the Marketpalce are DOWN on last year, despite the launch in May, two months into the period. GMV is just £800,000 ( combining bidstart and Marketplace) which is just c £5000 in sales per day. We know from earlier results, that their take is about 8%, so SG actual revenue from online stamp sales is just about £60,000 for the period........

And on the Matketplace they say it is getting there, and "the basics are now in place". What have they been working on for ten years ?

Lastly, everyone knows there have been a number of very senior departures ( they say will save £1.4m). IMHO it would have helped to spell out who, and why

blimey, not a holder (previously was) but making no money and divi cut....not a great sign IMO...DYOR but southward bound me thinks until management, or new management can start delivering, especially the online piece (they state it delivers the "basics"....how much have they spent and over how much time?!!! And yet still only delivers the "basics"

You would imagine most institutions have already dumped or decided to hold for a recovery, also I imagine the majority of small traders will look at the charts and target at least £1.50 before thinking about taking any profit off the table, the average price over the last five years must be north of £2, that is about an 80% rise from here.

short squeeze ? or a tip somewhere ? However if institutions still want to off load could be a sucker trap, but (imo) if all those who short term traded have now taken their profit and Instutions have decided not to sell then might recover significantly depending on the next trading update.

Why do people have to tell us they are such clever traders. There looks to be more to this rise than small time traders. The volume here the last 3 days has to have more than pi's behind it.

book, sounds like the 2nd half of the year will be better than the first....looks a turning point to me and with a much reduced price, we could be onto a winner
