22/7/2016 09:31 | Yours is £2 lol.MA doesn't need the money, SPD is his life and why would he want to hand over his life's work?.More likely he will take this private IMV, £800m for the 49% (£3 a share), could afford £400m out of his fat piggy bank and increase leverage (still low though) for the rest. No more doffing his cap to clueless MP's and two fingers up to the City.DD | discodave4
22/7/2016 09:21 | why, surely everyone has a price. | deanroberthunt
22/7/2016 09:17 | SalparaGood point, perhaps the majority of the negativity is priced in and this is near the bottom, be an interesting day to see which way the share price goes.drhNo chance. DD | discodave4

22/7/2016 08:55 | Doing ok today despite the avalanche of negative news on the radio..... | ashbox
22/7/2016 08:45 | Regardless of reality, SPD is all over the media today. Front page of both the FT and City AM, on Radio 4 news just now. All overwhelmingly negative which will doubtless hit sentiment. Having said that we are at an interesting point in that if the share price is not pushed down measurably again it would not be unreasonable to say that we have reached a bottom. I am not invested but have been watching. The issue is that the only corporate activity that can take place would be Ashley taking it private and I am not sure that he wants to do that. In addition you are not getting a divi so you are only holding for capital gains. | salpara111
22/7/2016 07:45 | and yet the same people berating SPD still buy goods from China, made by 5 yr olds in sweat shops working 15 hr days and getting paid nay on nothing. | deanroberthunt

22/7/2016 00:55 | Sports Direct Working Conditions 'Appalling' The report says working practices at Sports Direct are "closer to that of a Victorian workhouse than that of a modern retailer". full... | philanderer

21/7/2016 06:06 | Anyone who has worked for any big uk retail company will be well aware of what goes on in many of those companies Imho the Guardian are naive in the extreme to single out Sports Direct. | spob
21/7/2016 05:58 | Nothing new really. We already know an investigation is ongoing. Ashley has made promises in Westminster. I say give the man a chance to fulfill those promises. | spob
21/7/2016 00:02 | Guardian still digging... "Sports Direct minimum wage investigation to cover shop workers" Guardian understands HM Revenue & Customs investigation widened to look into pay of chain’s retail staff The official investigation into Sports Direct’s failure to pay its warehouse workers the national minimum wage is understood to have been widened to include the sportswear chain’s 13,000 retail workers. In a development that could significantly increase the scope of potential fines and back-pay due, the Guardian understands that investigators from HM Revenue & Customs are examining if Sports Direct retail staff – as well as about 3,000 warehouse workers at the group’s headquarters in Shirebrook, Derbyshire – have been paid less than the legal minimum. full: | philanderer

19/7/2016 16:23 | if this wasn't run by Ashley (holding 51%) and paying a dividend, it would get taken over for over £4. | deanroberthunt
19/7/2016 16:04 | My guess is the that the high street is going to be a mess short term across the board. How can it not be? Higher import costs (we import everything), Narrowing margins, and lower footfall. But the consumer will continue to focus on value (they will have to in the coming recession). This is the value clothes retailer. | undervaluedassets |
