24/6/2016 12:51 | Most definitely labour problems at SPD now, it's being priced in. The vast majority of the staff at the DC's are from E Europe. Brits will not work in the conditions they have put up with. In the interim, morale will be a real issue. | festario

24/6/2016 10:52 | Bargain. Well placed to benefit weak currency (or neutral effect at the very least). Labour costs go down in relation to foreign markets into which it is expanding. If we go back into recession - offers the cheapest clothes on the planet. | weemonkey

20/6/2016 08:29 | I'm a contrarian and I bought SPD a few months back when at 400 and had a small top up at 360 recently. Why did I buy? Because SPD looked like it had settled after a raft of bad news but was a solid company. There were another two reasons, the Euro football and the Olympics, all of those sales will be reported on at the results in December. Still plenty of time to hop on and ride it to Christmas. What is good for JD is good for SPD, cut and paste below from this morning's news: (ShareCast News) - FTSE 250 retailer JD Sports Fashion said on Friday that it is well placed to deliver an "excellent" first-half result. In its annual general meeting trading statement, the company said it has seen a further boost to sales in recent weeks from the UEFA Euro 2016 tournament. | osirisra |
