Afraid sbt have gone bump receivers were called in last week.

well I'll be happy to bank my profit but it would be more fun if there were rumours of a White Knight on the horizon :-))

And you never know... another bid could appear out of the blue.

Unlikely... but not impossible. I think we should start a rumour.

Wouldn't that be fun!

Guys
When GVC relist you should see several heavy volume days as the arbs delta hedge their positions. This will establish where the buyers for the stock are and give a better guide as to how many if any GVC you should take in the mix and match.
Aleks read my previous posts again to understand why I have been a buyer at 53.5. If I take a position I tend to make it worth the effort.
There is no hurry to decide what to do yet the market is now very liquid as the arbs soak up stock so you can always bale out if they go 55p bid.

I think it will be fairly easy to determine at what price the new shares will trade based on the closing price of the old shares the day before. It should be a straight correlation

I shall be interested to see what happens to the present share price of GVC when it starts trading again within a couple of weeks.

At this stage I am still holding.

yeah in theory you are right but if you want to receive shares you really dont know what value you are going to get untill March when the new shares begin trading.

aleks - I dont think that matters. The value of the new shares was based on a closing price of 233.5p. If that price increases by 10% so should the estimated value of the new GVC shares increase by 10%.

But Grizzly... when GVC start trading they will still have the same amount of shares in issue.. the full effect wont be known until the day after the court sanctions the scheme thats when the new shares will be admitted to trading.. thats should happen around March 10-20th

The share price closed at 54p today ...

1. So we have a possibility that the bid may be voted down, but not great. What would this do to the share price I wonder!

2. And we have the possibility that a white knight may appear on the horizon, but not great. What would this do to the share price! :-)

3. And we have the deal if accepted, underwritten at cash 55p (which we hope is watertight!)

4. And each 10% increase in the closing GVC share price of 233.5p will increase the value of the 55p bid by approx 1p. So if it goes to 300p (+ 30%) the bid is worth approx 58p!

Am I right?!!!

no thanks i ve seen what overconfidence can do... it doesnt happen often but an unexpected vote down can ensure a "proper loss". in my book 1/2% profit just isnt worth the risk. thats why i exit before the voting.

Aleks, you can rule out the possibility of a Vote Down.
In the detail of the RNS, you can see that WMH/GVC have worked very hard to ensure that they have a lot of large investors in favour of the deal.
Also, the SBT board are motivated to agree, with large exit bonuses.

Exbroker - ... thats a good question is the risk of a vote down worth the 2.8% profit you will make... plus you have a commission.

maybe its a good idea if you have 500 grand or something to put in to work. thats more like a large player trade.

So far so good........except.......there is a 55p cash option so if the share price falls the bid is still worth 55p!!!!
Why do you think I have been buying them at 53.5??

exbroker

Right so GVC is going to be re-listed within the next two weeks, on which we are nearly all agreed.

So let's see if we all agree on the following.

The bid is 55p, without the 1.1p dividend, of which 44.8p is cash (approx 81.5%) and 10.2p (approx 18.5% )is GVC stock based on a closing price for GVC of 233.5p.

If GVC opens at it's previous closing price, then the bids' value is unaltered.

If GVC open 10% higher then the 10.2p part of the bid should be worth 10% more! (ie 11.2p)

If GVC opens 10% lower then the 10.2p part of the bid should be worth 10% less! (ie 9.2p)

Am I right my fellow scribes?
