Saw some cleaned $1 notes that had been through the cleaning and experimental stiffening process the other day. The stiffening process is very impressive, and I think an essential addition to Aeris, and adds very substantial value to Spectra.

davidosh - that does look to be the case, yes. Following is a further extract from Nabil's email:

"This is an absolutely ridiculous situation which prevents USA domiciled investors, management or directors from being part of the transaction volume. I am looking for a solution to this and am also considering changing to the Main Board which is now a possibility. If you need more clarification, I would urge you to speak to Mr. Chris Fielding at W H Ireland, their Head of Corporate Finance."

Thanks Protean...Does that mean they will not be able to sell for the same reasons ?? lol
It is rather bonkers restricting directors buying in their own company !? Does not seem at all in shareholders interests and needs reporting to the useless powers that be !
Another question for my panel session aimed at the regulators in my three day Mello event in Derby (6-8th November)

The text below was the reply I received on 2nd Sept 2013 from Nabil Lawandy:

"I wanted you to be aware that two of our US Directors, Secretary Penn and Mr. Donohue have unsuccessfully attempted to purchase shares of Spectra stock on the AIM market over the past month. Major brokerage houses in the US and the UK refuse to do business with a US Citizen looking to trade in foreign markets. The FACTA laws established in 2010 are set take effect by September 30, 2013. Based on my communications with Merrill Lynch, Charles Schwab and with WH Ireland in the UK (WHI has also reached out to all their contacts with no success); they refuse to take on this business due to all the risk on their side and the significant amount of paperwork and administration required to deal with a US Citizen trading on a foreign exchange.

Our NOMAD continues to search for a solution, but that are very uncertain that they will be successful.

outlines the legislation."

I am a holder here and have been for over a year. I am excited about the prospects and the next 6 months could be fun. BUT the director's could have picked up shares if they had wanted them without any difficulty when it was 17p. I got as many as I wanted at around that price so the thought that the directors couldn't just can't be right.

If I remember correctly, it said to the effect that several directors had tried yet been unable to buy in decent volume as the stock wasn't available.

Hi jans3, not unusual it's a w8-ben tax with holding form basically because it's a U.S. stock and different taxes for dividends etc depending on your nationality.
Any broker i've used to buy the stock let you buy at the time then send out the form later to be filled in, i've even bought from HL and haven't been asked to fill the form as yet. You should have been able to buy first, i'd check back with them if i were you.

Hi all, wanted to buy in this afternoon but Hargreaves Lansdowne informed me that as this is a USA stock I have to download a form, sign it and send it back to them; bit annoyed as can see the price rising significantly by the time I get my permission to buy. Is this essential or is it just HL?

Nice one El1te. The cash on the balance sheet really helps. Should be profitsble this year while we see what the outcome of the Aeris trails.
