I'd be more worried at the $33m losses they have racked up over the years. If the note cleaning tech doesn't sell then that looks like it will continue. IF it does then could be up and away. Just a gamble here. no?

We all know Lawandy's argument by now. He says that because he has no other execs to help with running the company, he takes all the board pay. Perhaps if he had some other directors, he wouldn't make such a pig's ear of it.

If you think it is so unfair ring him and tell him to take a pay cut. I do wonder though what is happening behind the scenes here.

Pat, and that's just one, albeit large Central Bank but there's another 179.Besides substantial cost savings available, there's a big green angle here not just in the greenhouse gases produced on incineration but also the carbon footprint in producing new notes and the use of finite materials.BTW Aeris recovers some 97% of the carbon dioxide gases used.

Slightly dated article for the Telegraph but nevertheless very useful for illustrative purposes for Spectra Systems(SPSY)concerning some £13bln of UK bank notes (some 882,000,000 notes),some 25% of all notes in circulation and weighing almost as much as three 747 Planes, that have to be withdrawn from circulation and either incinerated or turned into compost annually as no longer useable. Expect a £5 note to last just a year with a £10 or £20 notes replaced after 4 years.

Surely there must be a better way?

I exited this morning. This looks a bit binary at the moment and those are the kind of investments I am trying to avoid.

Best of luck to all holders.

Best

Sold all mine into the strength the other day for a small profit. Looks like a drop in turnover is on the cards with 'years' to replace it. If the cleaning comes good then great, but otherwise. Plus the cash is now a fair bit less than when it was equivalent to the whole company at 16 / 17p.

My patience has ran out after a year or more here, but good luck to those that hang on for the news.

Indeed, Chris Mills would also be looking at the cash pile. He's certainly turned fortunes around at Quarto Group by ousting the CEO and installing his own man at the helm, after a year or so we are now seeing the benefits.
