Its certainly a bit of a pain. I cannot see the sense of selling down here when SPSY have stated they had a profitable H2.

Cheers, Martin

Someone desparate to get out... They just sold 50000 at 14p when bid was 18.5p.
Bosh, share price down 10% on the £7k sale.....

Then 80000 go 4 x 20000 buys and yet the price stays down....
How does that work then?

Now they are short 30000 shares yet price is 10 percent off.

Looks like Hargreave Hale have picked up 500,000 shares for their discretionary account, taking them across the 5% threshold. Reassuring to see a familiar name on the shareholder list finally. :-)

Let's see.

About 41m shares total SPSC+SPSY so market cap here at 19p is c. £7.8m

Current assets less ALL liabilities at end H1 were $18.4m = c. £11.5m

Might discount inventories a bit but only $1.3m anyway
Add a bit for H2 profits £400k to balance that.
Less $0.75m for inksure purchase, add back any assets etc.
Less whatever litigation losses (max $1.27m?)
Add non current assets £2.6m tangible

So a bit of a Ben Graham job on the face of it.

I wonder what sort of biz remains if the oft spoke of G8 bank fizzles out as a customer?

Anything worth sharing in the broker note about life after today?

FWLIW the above includes:

"Spectra Systems Corp (LON:SPSY) had its target price lowered by WH Ireland from GBX 53 ($0.87) to GBX 46 ($0.76). WH Ireland currently has a buy rating on the stock. "

It might be interesting to see any associated WH Ireland note.

The company needs to develop new lines of business to become sustainable as they will slowly bleed to death on the back of current operations. Also, it's not like there are a large number of alternative customers. In that context, today's reaction may not be overdone.

By the way, does anyone know why ADVFN is quoting the market cap as 7M? It's 8.4M isn't it?

Todays disappointment appears to tie in with the Nov 13th RNS which was for a $8m contract for current generation sensors/materials with the same Central Bank which todays RNS suggests is unaffected. Obviously the follow on to new generation sensors has now been curtained with this Central Bank.

It is a major potential contract that has been lost but to describe it as 'gravely disappointing' is surely going over the top especially with a customer that you still have a major relationship with. Does no-one any favours.

Poor wording I agree.

Imo the directors in this company have good intellects, but coming from a academic background, they are not good marketing people, and I think that is the main reason why the share price is so depressed.

No offence to academics, but sometimes they do not understand well how to market themselves in a commercial environment.

I imagine their clients are highly technical aswell, so not neccessarily a problem for the business, more a problem with the share price.

Have just added another 5k's worth...

Bought far too early here when those erroneous broker estimates were about. However, today's share price move does seem overblown given that, if the broker estimates are to be believed, SPSY are stating that H2 2013 was profitable.
