Technical data from my system shows MACD Golden Crosses for BLT and GLEN on Friday
S32 is heading in the right direction and almost there
S32 using RSI has been showing overbought for everyday of the week
All early but positive signs.

My pension fund holds BLT but the S32 trade was in my trading fund. BLT are doing well and will pay their dividend but its GLEN which in many ways has caused all of us bother............and this will in time get resolved as the world needs metals and minerals with an expanding world population.

So as you say "swing" trades from time to time..........and that is not to say that I will not come back into S32........

Inherited S32 from BLT which is a share I have been swing trading for 10 years
'
BLT was a reliable swing trade until Spring 2012. I retain a small legacy holding, which I added to get right numbers of BLT this year for a small S32 holding and the dividend.

The article was written during the big GLEN price downturn but since then as you can see from my posts I have bought lowish (from 70p down to 63p and sold out on the rebound at 70p) now the shares are 75p.

I have read the article but will not post it as it is nonsense and poorly researched and basically not the truth.

The point I want to make is that you really have to know what is going on and S32 are doing well - all that was expected from them and for me all I was doing was to build a position - hold for a few months, collect a dividend and AGM announcement and then sell. I made a very small profit but the price of GLEN and how sentiment changed ruined my big punt...........that is markets for you.

Are you or have you been a shareholder in BLT or S32?

SYDNEY—When South32 Ltd., the mining company spun out of BHP Billiton Ltd., launched in May, its backers claimed its low debt and focus on a clutch of commodities would help it weather any stormy markets ahead.

Well I read all that I thought was worth reading in the Sunday papers and came to the conclusion that I should sit on the fence and wait. A BB is not the ideal place to write a cynical analayst's report but everyting is wrapped up with how commodity prices react and the way BLT and Rio run their businesses. GLEN is now a special situation share.

I have a "Pound Cost Average" price of 68p and will sit and wait to see just where these markets go over the next few months.........

Finished at 63p so will still wait...........

I have worked out that if interest rates were to be raised then the mining industry would curtail there surpluses. This would bring down the stockpiles and lift prices across the board and be reflected in higher share prices.

In the meantime this is a golden oppertunity to buy stock as in several years one will be looking at a slimline industry with managed cash flows and paying dividends which do not need to be financed by bank borrowings.

Last night over 3m shares were sold so I am not surprised that the price has been marked down here in London this morning.

Not sure what to do!!!

I see 64.5 to buy but holding off as GLEN's price has fallen by some 20% over the week-end and to day is looking very ill indeed.

The markets really do not like metals and minerals but we have to remember that the world is not quite going down the pan as these commodities have to be mined and made in to something (even VW cars) for the world to go on living........

I have been through this sort of market correction before and made money so I shall be sticking to my buying plan.........next price 63p if it gets there!

Looking at what is happening with GLEN I am giving up for this week-end and will come back next week after the papers have commentated over the next few days.

S32 shares have been sold down by small shareholders and looking at their Report/Accounts this afternoon it does look in good shape but that is not the way the markets are looking at them.................

Annual report out today. Let's see what effect it has on the circa 46% slump in price from the peak after launch.

Forced in to making a profit on the upside so now have to sit and wait for 65p.

S32 as we know was spun out of BLT which I think is trying to hold its current levels but my son who lives in HK tells me China is trading below par so keep a close eye on there and the VW troubles in Germany which may have a big knock-on effect for the world.

No rally today only a buying opportunity for me at 70.25p.

Inside S32 is the worlds largest silver mine - one to watch for lots of reasons.

hit 159 and now back to 156 . Really these mining stocks are so high risk and only good for trading at times . could rally again I guess and i just rely on intra-day chart to give an idea of next move but can still be caught out !
