you could look t it like that pherrom, but i think i would prefer to take the money and invest it in a higher yield stock, maybe even blt itself...if i could see the shares in my accounts (i have two sets of blt in with different brokers)- anyone received their allocation yet? or do we have to wait until next tuesday when normal trading commences?

note they are up 12% in aus so should see a very nice bounce today. hopefully £1.20 (kiss of death...sorry guys!)

As an investor for dividends this seems pretty good. Billiton to maintain their dividend + additional dividend from S32.

Depends if you take a five year view that mining stocks will improve, then yes buy and hold.......which I do, and have done .

It has already dropped considerably from announcement price. I valued this at £1:46 on the basis of our buying price of BLT (£14.60)in December. (BLT said they were disposing of 10% of the company). On that basis the market appear to be suggesting that it has fallen in value around 40% since December and a similar amount compared with BLT's opening this morning.

It is my view, for what it is worth, that the MMs are selling stock that they have received as BLT said that anyone with 10k shares or less could take cash instead.

Perhaps MMS selling into the market ready to pick up later today. Might be a good time to add?

Time will tell. Good Divi, but not in FTSE100, can see this dropping.

The title says it all - any comments anyone. My view is that there has been dissension in the board room and the BLT boards said OK go your own way.
