Investors Champion issued a note this afternoon, there's a link at the bottom to full article. Overall it seems like a good acquisition which is difficult to value on numbers and from the outside, but as alter ego says above, give management some credit.

Summary
The software and IT services group specialising in multi-channel retail and manufacturing markets has announced the acquisition of One iota Limited, a leading provider of cloud-based multi-channel retail solutions, for a maximum aggregate consideration of £5.43m. The acquisition further strengthens the Group's position in the rapidly expanding mobile enabled ecommerce and online sales markets. In order to strengthen its balance sheet and support future acquisitions the Group is also raising £3.50m at a price of 55 pence per share via an institutional placing.

Simon always strips out the cash when valuing.
Over 10p a share here
It is a comfort and it seems the board favour a number of small acquisitions rather than a Big Bang!
I prefer this approach.

I'm a holder as well. + in my eyes when the boards are quiet.
The acquisition is hard to judge, not much news available. As you mentioned varies, it's expensive from a stand alone profit venture. No doubt there must be value in the customers it has picked up from the buy with a look to cross selling products.

Simon Thompson of IC is keen and I would expect him to return to it when it's results are out( Sept12 I believe)
I think it is a well managed company with plenty of cash for bolt on acquisitions
Like this.Indeed they refer to more in there statement
Maybe not set the world alight but a pretty solid investment

Catan looks expensive but we do not know how much the modest size of its profits was affected by the pay of its owners.
From the scarcity of posts here I deduce that SND is somewhat neglected. Probably a sound long-term holding now that it has tidied up its balance sheet.
