BHP can pick up another 40 million shares per yesterday’s agreement.....they must be tempted to try to pick up the 28 million options expiring in a few weeks time....IMHO

I'm surprised that so far no one has mentioned 'filling the gap', so there I've done it! I'm not expecting it to retrace much, as the BHP stake must be concentrating the hearts and minds of other would be mining participants.

This move by BHP is positive in that they were willing to pay a premium to get a decent sized bite, and a good few will have bought in anticipation of such a move, and now sold the news and moved on. The deal buys Solg another couple of years of drilling holes in the jungle, so still a long way from any moves towards extraction. That upcoming MRE had better be a blockbuster to get this moving up again, and a low cost PEA also needed to underline the commercial value of the project.

I agree. But don't forget price has recovered from low 20's.
Last week I struggled to hold my shares when I saw price falling back to 32p.
Good news is BHP wanted to buy 100m @ 45p.
Even better news sold few @ 44.8 on opening Tues.
Not here to be richest person in cemetery.
Nothing wrong in taking a little profit.
40p is still cheap.

With all the recent news and buzz in the media I'm disappointed with the short term share price action.

BHP has been having copper problems in OZ and Chile and this may have contributed to its thoughts re diversification of supply.

I'm surprised nobody is mentioning DGR Global. MCap £46 million but they have 204 million shares in SOLG worth £82 million and 5 other 'tier one' investments... I bought a slug last night at 15.5....

Analysts covering Solg have raised their price targets since yesterday’s news.

All BHP driven.

What will happen when another major feels they are being left behind?

There’s 55% of the company already tightly held not including PI’s and other large holders Blackrock JPM and others.

A million showed after hours -must be more of these in the wings.

My guess is 60p by the time MRE2 is published.

Well, I already held my hands up, said I called it wrong first thing, then bought back a few at sub-40 just before the close. If any of you are like me you will be wrong half of the time. If the horse you are on is dead, don't flog it. And if it is running well, stay on it. And sometimes you think it is flagging when it is just pausing, like last week, and then don't ask me for advice.

Last time I posted was when a few here were shouting about a fundraising decimating the share price
Heck it looked like something walked it down and now as it has become abundantly clear it was absolutely nothing more than PI trades..

We knew BHP were here and we KNOW they have not finished.
It was right and proper that SOLG provided BHP with the incentive they have done..
And incentive it is.. Because (And this seems to have escaped peoples attention) BHP will see there 6% stake acquired at 45p per share as a BARGAIN..
They will see the purchase as essentially a discount to the fairer value.

Remember those who shout 30% discount to prevailing share price for fundraising etc, well BHP paying 45p is not seen by them as paying a premium, oh no, it is a discount..

They would never in a million years have been able to acquire the amount they did today on the open market.
They want a member on the board of SOLG..
They have plans..

I said many months ago I was here for the £2.00 Solgold share price...
The fact BHP have been keen to strike so quickly after obtaining their first 5% is making me reconsider that now and maybe re-evaluating it upwards..
£100 Million, £500 Millions, are peanuts to BHP.. Its a bit like people saying "I wouldn't get out of bed for that".

This really really should be A £1.00 all day long with what we currently know and people should be complaining and saying BHP have been gifted shares at 50% of current share price, because one thing is absolute certain, that is what the Board of BHP will be feeling like they have done..

Long time shareholder Chris Temple talking about $SOLG $SOLG.L $CGP

15 minutes well worth listening to - very positive for both the company and #ecuador (and whilst he doesn't mention it, today's RNS makes it clear that Solgold wants to be seen as a positive and lead partner with the government).

"...exciting as hell before they hit the big time..."

Surprised about the speed of BHP's actions today following the GUY transaction a few weeks ago.

"...high grade core dramatically increasing over time..."

He also talks about other prosective breakout #ecuador explorers without naming them (no doubt his National Investor newsletter, will though I do not subscribe).
