I have been wondering why no updated resource estimates during the year - maybe they are hanging on until they can double the resource, as I suspect it must be heading in that direction.

Doubt there will be action before Christmas.
Would rather think we are waiting for NM to show his hand rather than BHP.
This is what is holding price back- uncertainty.
We can't go it alone. But what option do we choose?
Be quite happy to be proved wrong and see £1 before Christmas.

Nice postings Gersemi.

And it is something that holders have known for a what seems like a long long time.

Traders will be in, out and shaking it all about.

Chartists will be proclaiming they see an Inverted "W" (Why they cant call it an "M" I dont know). That the lines predict a T cup, and that the "Jammy Dodger" suggests a rise then a fall.

Those os us with our feet on the ground and not swayed by belief in magic fairies know that with a great asset and the worlds biggest miners hovering that a bidding war is very likely as BHP are not a small fry investment house.

The share price hasn't reacted as one would maybe expect, but truth be told, there are likely more "Traders" (Those who believe they are doing it wrong if they are not buying and selling daily) than there are those who are prepared to invest and sit back and hold until fuller maturity is delivered.

Any chartists want to tell us where the price will end today? No? Thought not.

Gersemi,

Agree, it’s pretty much nailed on that BHP are going to be wanting way more than 6% one way or another? Just a matter of time before the share price reflects that, and if Newcrest or anybody else for that matter decide they want it more than BHP then things could get very interesting to say the least. An imminent sensible straight out offer would be the preferred outcome IMO right now and see what that brings out of the woodwork?

Coincidentally, I’m holding pretty much exactly the same number of shares as yourself. I do hope you are right and this all comes good this side of the new year.

Buckle up.....

Good luck all LT holders.

Great reading Gersemi, thanks for posting. Things may be about to get interesting here? Those two pieces certainly point in that direction. Bring it on!

Think once we break through 30p sky is the limit.

Bid keeps on rising , just needs to break into the 30s again . The asset is of interest by the majors . That part is clear .

If anybody doesn't believe in TA look at FTC. A few of us saw a couple of weeks ago that it was knocking at multi-year resistance of 16p, and that as soon as that went it was likely to jump higher. And it did, went to 18.5p, was tipped in SCSW and opened at 23p yesterday. I bought solely in the chart, you could just see a flood of money buying and nobody at that price having a psychological reason to sell.SOLG May be a bit different due to the big holdings of a few players. This one promises to be more of a game of chess imo

Personally I believe in the conspiracy theory.
Everyone is conspiring to keep share price down.

Technical analysis parameters are used in algorithmic trading software packages and are therefore highly influential. If they weren't used in this type of trading then I believe their influence would be considerably diluted

AT and HFT trading represents nearly 70% of all trades in the US market. On that basis technical (chart) parameters are highly relevant simply because they have been afforded a degree of importance though I don't believe they represent a portal to the future nor do I believe they mirror human behaviour

:-)

Onedb1.... Irrespective of the Voodoo... :-) I took on your 20p line..
(For no other reason that it was a nice round number, and also a point at which it had tried before)
I added a few more this morning (50k... Shares that is, not monetary value) and paid over 28.6p for them..
But I will be buying more (When funds allow) and truth be told I will be happy top pay 50p, £1.00, even £1.50 as I firmly believe that BHP are not here to try and benefit from a 6% stake, (What benefit would that actually give them? Essentially nothing)
We are sitting on a world class asset and I am happy to wait a year or longer for the truer value to out..
