06/6/2018 14:40 | One day we will have an RNS that will please the market. | mam fach
06/6/2018 13:10 | ODR The Cascabel deposit is a porphery one which means that it covers many Sq Km's. Porphery deposits are lower grade but highly valuable because of the extent of the deposit and being nearer the surface. Cascabel grades are very good for this type of deposit (c 0.6%). | trev1223
06/6/2018 11:38 | The market knows there is plenty of resource there although the grades are ok they are not exceptional, but compensated for by the sheer scale of the Cascabel site. Today it's just a case of being unimpressed by being told what we already know, the market wants to see a deal. Either a sale or a partnership. They may have abandoned the quarterly MRE to save on costs, I see it as an official rubber stamp for something that is already known, but is perhaps a requirement if seeking Bank finance? | lefrene
06/6/2018 11:03 | hmnn .. have to say I was also not happy about abandoning the quarterly MRE updates, and I said at the time. Particularly as they made a bit of fanfare about it to please investors. Now we are left with ad-hoq drilling updates which doesn't seem to get anyone's juices going. Not going to pretend I know good grades from bad but the share price suggests not very exciting. ODR | onedayrodders
06/6/2018 10:40 | Expectations at start of the years following the MRE and why i held past that was the fact we were to get quarterly updates on resource which would be easy as so much more copper was being discovered.... Aquinaga had very high expecatations for quite a few of us on this board. I was hoping for some similar grades to ALpala. They are now not updating resource regulalarly and the initial drills whilst good arent quite what i was hoping for in regards to having a strong hand to play with potential partners/buyers. NOthing in there to say that they dont suddenly get taken over or find great new grades but for me it isnt quite hitting the targets i had set for it. ON the plus side cash burn isnt as large as previously. | 5070481
06/6/2018 10:21 | 5070481 What are your expectations? Can you quantify? | trev1223
06/6/2018 09:13 | I have reduced a bit this morning. Always been open on my positions. WHat were your thoughts on the results this morning? Aquinaga at the start of the year was a big hope for me with regards to stregnthening SOLG negotiating position. It hasnt quite delivered on that on these first drills yet. Still hopeful it does to give a viable second deposit but hasnt quite hit my expectations so far. | 5070481
06/6/2018 08:48 | Doesn't sound like you should be holding then right ? | onedayrodders
06/6/2018 08:47 | Nice to have a geologist on board. | mam fach
06/6/2018 08:03 | I wasnt that impressed with the grades that they are quoting. I have also been expecting MRE updates that havent been forthcoming here. | 5070481
06/6/2018 07:34 | Extending high grade resource at Alpala + infills!!!!More copper at Triveno and Aguinaga, copper prices flying, copper deficit growing by the day..... Jeez, Mr Market is going to punish us for this!!! | mrpiggy
05/6/2018 23:57 | Anyone who likes investing in copper and gold should review this one...looks good in my opinion. (Geotechnical Engineer, the name caught my eye!) This link really shows who our chairman is in action. He is the real deal. Recorded Nov 2017. A SVP of Lundin Mining who recently involved in the sale of a mine in the Congo for $2.4 billion. He discusses that they are looking for opportunities to deploy this money and make some smart investments using this boosted exploration budget. Georgian Mining? Why is a highly successful heavyweight economic / geologist doctor spending his valuable time in a proven mineral rich part of Georgia? And recent arrivals of other London Mining experts to the team. It wouldn't surprise me if we see a TR1 come in soon from London Mining. The dots are there, we just need to join them up... Something big could be happening right under our noses. This guy means business. Enjoy. All in my honest opinion. DYOR | seanlander
05/6/2018 19:46 | If only - £3-75. I could live with that. Please ,please hurry up ! | mam fach
05/6/2018 13:42 | trev1223, from the outset it appears that Solg have worked hard to get and keep the locals on board with various agricultural and work programmes, I believe that a majority of those working on site are locals and if not are at least Ecudorean nationals, there are a handful of outside specialists. It makes sense for Solg to be seen as a 'model' operator, life is better all round, and almost certainly saves money in the longer term too. There will of course be a lot of mess once mining starts, it's unavoidable but it can be contained so that it doesn't intrude upon village areas. After many years it would seem likely at Cascabel that level land will exist where before there were just steep hillsides and narrow valleys. Thus a long run benefit after the mine is finally worked out. It could just be that the Chinese operation was not employing many locals, thus no trickle down benefits. NM could always set up a consultancy :¬) I do wish NM would get on with his 15 times price hike, or else it seems I'm going to have to pay higher import duty on my new Harley! | lefrene
05/6/2018 12:35 | My thinking too, lefrene. I get the impression from the SOLG site that the local population is very much involved with the drilling and surveying operations. If the locals benefit then there will not be a problem. There may be problems later when mining is underway and is not being done sympathetically. | trev1223
05/6/2018 11:00 | Sounds like politics to me, the country needs the income from the mining, has somebody upset the judge? It does show the importance of keeping the locals on side and keeping the operation as environmentally clean as possible. It would be of interest to know how that Chinese company has behaved towards the local population, and how many locals they have employed, also whether the locals have seen any benefits in kind. | lefrene
05/6/2018 10:01 | Land claims upset in southern Ecuador. This may not be affecting SOLG now but could be a weakness when extraction begins. If you read the above article you can see that the government thinks the land title trail is valid and that the complaints are based on revolutionary elements. At least this indicates government support for legal mining operations is not in question. Maybe once stripping of the ground begins, SOLG will be vulnerable to real or specious claims. | compoundup
04/6/2018 18:18 | Yep hi hi silver away ! At some point | onedayrodders
04/6/2018 17:28 | ODR, the copper hasn't gone away, it's still a Tier 1 find, enjoy the stand off, the sound of horses hooves in the distance, a money slinger will be along at some point :¬) | lefrene
04/6/2018 17:08 | Oh dear .. a whole day without a single post .. morale pretty low naturally. Doesn't seem like any scheduled drilling update is gonna move this. Starting to feel a much longer game than a year ago and realization of the same being felt in the share price | onedayrodders
31/5/2018 18:00 | It’s the official closing price, it’s where the best bid and best offer match and the volume associated with it. Someone was willing to pay up above the mkt in the close essentially. It is positive. | dmitribollokov
31/5/2018 16:56 | It's marked as an uncrossing trade, essentially somebody squaring their books, but has had to pay a bit more to get what was needed. So it looks positive. | lefrene
31/5/2018 16:49 | So was that a £75,000 buy just after the bell??? | luckyvince
31/5/2018 14:38 | NM knows the value of what Solg has, the industry knows the value of it too. The game is to try to sweat NM into giving up an asset for less than it's worth, despite the fact that the scale, location and favourable infrastructure make Cascabel an absolute plum. They know Solg will need more money in a 12 month to carry on drilling holes across the other properties, so there's a stand off, sweat NM into caving in on a cheap deal. NM will understand his various options, such as sell Alpala (or joint deal), sell all of Cascabel, or sell all of Solg. NM is probably one of the few highly paid managers who is actually worth his stipend, since you have someone who knows and understands the industry, knows the value and possibilities of what the company owns, and thus can deduce his best options. We are just flies on the wall of the bar room, wishing somebody would just whip their gun out and get the thing over with! | lefrene |
