Mrpiggy, I wonder if Solg being ex AiM is also caught up in the Beaufort brokerage debacle? PWC (the liquidators)are selling off whatever they can to raise their egregious £100+ million fee's. Turns out that when you hold stock through a nominee, you don't actually own it at all, so it can be sold without your permission to pay off your brokers debts!! So choose your broker very carefully, ex Beaufort clients are apparently taking a haircut between 20 and 30%.

5070481 made mention of an iceberg sell.....Still that big iceberg sat on 27 to clear. Its an impressive amount of stock that they have been managing to get away there over the last few weeks.Until it clears I don't think we are going anywhere fast lefrene let alone multiples of the current share price

That spread is a bit eye watering. Copper seems to be holding above $3 lb, which is reassuring. The value is undoubtably here, but the waiting is dire.

"converging Fibonacci's" ... I think BOOTS have some cream for that.

We have a good upward trend in copper and reducing copper inventories . With such strong fundamentals and big pile in the ground of copper (with 12 bidders if we are to believe what we are told )should at some point revalue . The positive in my view is that the stock is basing with a 20 to 27p range in the consolidation . A breakout will have good targets and depending on the impulse of momentum should return Solg to the highs . It could easily be a forming cup and Handle or just a rounding bottom Seems strange to me that ever increasing resources and stronger copper have no impact on price . Hence this is the positive divergence that in my view smart investors should buy and add on breakout when it comes . Just my view . Obviously sub 20p implies am wrong

We seem to be a very small group of believers.
Doesn't mean are not correct about potential though.

I might consider joining the yacht club if this 15 bags from here. I might even consider the purchase of a small inflatable :o)

15x25 = very acceptable.

And "converging Fibonacci's on the 60 day MACD", might make you sound more authorative over drinks and nibbles at the yacht club ODR :¬)

Plainly NM recently commenting that Alpala, along with the new finds could have the share price at 15 times the current level, hasn't had an effect on the price. today.

ok we are a bit long in the tooth now for my bullish flag but still could be a cup and handle forming from mid Jan.

I hope so coz that's all the charting buzz words I know.

Yes, I agree lefrene that Cascabel has a unique advantage with the infra-structure that is already in place.

It seems the more precious metals get melted out during the electric heating part of the process.

The major attraction of the Cascabel site is ample water and a large power station nearby, thus huge savings reckoned at $3 billion, can be deducted from typical mine start-up costs. This is a huge advantage when being given the once-over by potential miners, it means more available suitors and hence a bidder will not have an open field to themselves, unless of course they jump in the ring with a HUGE offer that simply couldn't be refused. :¬)

Thanks lefrene, I am a little wiser and can see that the gold is not lost during the smelting process. It tells me though that SOLG are going to need a big player with the where-with-all to not only mine but also have the industrial capacity to extract the copper and gold.

trev1223 Below is a good description.

Ores are first mechanically crushed and ground so that nearly all copper mineral particles are freed from the gangue. Flotation by the injection of air and violent agitation is carried out with the pulverized ore held in suspension in water, to which surface-active agents have been added. The process yields concentrates containing roughly 30% copper, which are sequentially fed to a smelter, a furnace in which most of the some iron and sulfur are removed, then to a converter or converting furnace, where most of the remaining iron and other impurities are removed. (Depending on the type of smelting and converting furnace used, as much as 99+% of the sulfur can be recovered. It is used to make sulfuric acid, which is sold or used to leach copper from suitable ores directly, thereby circumventing the entire smelting-converting cycle.) The result is an impure (98+%) form of metal known as blister copper (for its surface appearance). The blister is then fire-refined further to adjust its sulfur and oxygen contents, yielding metal that is sufficiently pure for many other-than-electrical uses. However, since the fire-refined metal may contain commercially viable concentrations of precious metals (mostly silver and gold), most of it is cast into thick sheets known as anodes that are sent to the large electrolytic cells, where final refining takes place. A dc electric current, passed through the cells, dissolves the anodes and deposits the copper on cathodes. The final product of the refining process is electrolytic tough pitch (ETP) copper normally containing between 99.94 and 99.96% Cu. Cathodes are re-melted under controlled conditions and cast into forms suitable for further processing.

It does make you think whether had there been no RNS at all today trading would have remained stable around 25.5p

Unless there is a chunky delayed sale I see no evidence to support this weakness.

Then again it's all cloak and dagger stuff with these mm's

Does anyone with a mining background know how the copper and gold will be extracted from the ore? I have thought about it for some time now and can only assume that the gold will be taken out of the pay dirt and then the copper smelted from the tailings (that is the waste from the gold extraction).

mam fach, it's a case of an MRE, a cost analysis, and a buyer or partner to begin operations. The RNS today is good news by any measure, but it's a case of 'Oh gawd not more wretched high value ore!'. It's rather handy to keep finding high grade ore, but it's a long way from finding ore to actually bringing some cash in. However the more ore Solg keeps turning up then I would think the more tasty a morsel it becomes to be eaten in one big bite? Why muck about trying to get a slice of Cascabel when for a bit more money you could have the whole cake to devour at your own pleasure. Solg needs to get a deal done with Cascabel to get cash to exploit the rest of the estate, because the more high grade ore they turn up, then the more attractive they become as an out right buy.

Just a matter of patience, look at aaz sinking last week then an about change in direction. AAZ mm's were looking for stock, its all a game that plays out eventually.

This will be a huge prize going forward. Copper will be the metal to have over the next 50yrs so I see this as a great target for one of the super majors.

I guess a few are disappointed that it's not the message they are waiting for? At least it gives the believers an opportunity to accumulate a few more.
