alwaysevolving, it's no secret that Solg lacks the capital to exploit any of it's finds, so I would expect a low ball offer just for Alpalla perhaps 3% of its deemed metal value. But if you were a mining behemoth you might prefer to stock your cellar and buy the whole thing. The sheer scale of recent finds would seem to make Solg worth at least $5 billion. A big company would then have resources for over a century to feed off. My guess is the vultures will sit on the edge waiting for Solg to struggle and then attempt mean offers. There's a long way to go yet unless one of the miners wants to get a project underway to be poised for the expected upturn in copper prices.

I think they have to sell it and then focus their attention on teh other sites and build them up accordingly. Gettign involved in protracted financing discussions and fundraises will benefit no one.

Global inflation - $3.3 lb over life of mine is pretty conservative.

I presume their values for the metals are what they project them to be by the time mining could get under way? This is just one of a dozen priority targets. So what do they do next? Try to raise money to mine it, or sell it to one of the big boys?

MK, if Im honest I was wanting a better IRR, probably above 30 as a minimum to be able to access better financing deals. I think it is clear that currently Solgold could not get finance for this at a good rate which would eat into the NPV considerably. UNappealing rates on debt forces it back onto the shareholders to stump up which would mean significant dilution. I think selling is the only option for cascabel based on current MRE numbers. BHP i suspect would be aware of this and would pitch a suitable price.

This then leaves SOlgold back on the other sites and how to value them without drilling having been done.

For teh record I reduced my holding here for now as it had maybe got ahead of where the numbers were at.

both are high risk, solg because of the high mkt cap and ecr because they havent actually proved anything yet, but my vote goes to ecr for the time being.

Isn't the plan going to be to sell of most of it to generate the cash needed to develop the few choice sites?

why did they use high metal prices for the PEA?

eg they use copper at $3.30 per lb when the actual price is $2.72, quite a big difference!

the amount of money needed is huge compared to the mkt cap of the company, so there will have to be an equity element, and possibly convertible bonds.

for me the grades are low, but the recourse is massive, and the life of mine is long, but i fear a significant fund raising, as per sirius sxx for comparison!

at half a billion mkt cap with a huge finance question i thought this was over priced, and i still do, but the mkt cap is 3/4 of a billion now!

i'm not interested at these prices, with this uncertainty, so i'll wait for the fund raising to complete and see where the dust settles then.

That's the thing though Jerry, Beaufort account holders were going to get a hair cut right up to the 11th hour. Even from ISA's and SIPP's. It's a scandal that seems to have gone by with little interest.

from memory I think you register with them giving details, then you can elect to get things like AGM and annual reports either electronically or through the post. And vote if you want. unfortunately you can't do this in an isa wrap
