Calling a bottom is never easy. Just a case of sitting it out. Step away from the screen and don't be tempted to do anything rash.

Well, I am not sure that CGP shareholders are in the most secure position.

I am assuming there will be a takeout of Solg, either by changing the board at the proposed EGM so that a bid gets recommended or hostile, by stake building to get control of the share register and achieve the same end and CGP will assist in that process.

What guarantee is there that the major who succeeds will reward that support? Regardless of the ENSA provisions and availability of security, who will fund a minority shareholding, where the major can crank up capital expenditure as much as they please and block all distributions for as long as they choose? Any major will see that CGP 15% as a gift.

I see CGP as greedy (they want a double premium) and disingenuous. Their interests were best served by joining forces with Solg and assisting NM to get one decent premium.

Mk, behind the scenes, there will be a lot of activity trying to muster votes for the requisitioned meeting. Any strength in CGP shares would indicate them winning. In reality, it will all hinge on BHP. If CGP fail to get sufficient votes, their survival will depend on a successful SOLG bid.

It's the equivalent of being in Falmouth, with a volcano in Ipswich, and a light wind blowing the ash away from Falmouth. Agriculture in the area nearby and downwind of the event are plainly going to have serious problems, but in no way are any of Solg's sites going to be affected.

Not sure how much a bit of ash would affect a mining project? Usually a fair bit of dust about I think. It seems agricultural crops can suffer a lot, and livestock grazing.

The Global Wind Map, indicates that average wind speeds in the area of the volcano are under 2.5 metres per sec, and blow in a NE direction. ie, low wind speeds away from Cascabel that is well over 200 miles away! Any meaningful ash content would drop out within a few miles, but is heading away from Cascabel anyway. Best close that short?
