All quiet on the western front here. Been nigh on a month now since the update, wonder when they'll have anything to say to us. Still holding.

Sell 75k at 5p or buy 5k at 5.5p

Quite clear there is more stock available at 5.5p mid price judging
by the 2 buys today.

On 7/4/09 he bought 750k, increasing his holding to 5.7m (RNS 14/4/09) and since then there has been no notification.

It looks as though the website may be mistaken.

I was always on the understanding that he had about 5.5m shares

No pun intended.

According to the website, on 14 April 2010 Guy Thomas had 13,100,000 shares. Today we're told that yesterday he increased from 5,700,000 to 8,237,602 but we were never told (or have I missed it?) that he'd decreased from 13.1m to 5.7m.

I wonder if this 5.6 million includes off-market disposals, or if it includes sales from before the news on the 9th. Otherwise pretty much every trade since then would have to have been Polar selling, unless there are delayed trades yet to show.

They have been invested in sinosoft for many years.
And over the past 3 years they have been steadily reducing their holding.

All out now though.
which I suppose is good news.

Well, that's the seller out. Polar Capital - who they?

'But they did not state categorically that the $3.8m was the full and complete extent of the fx trading losses'
didnt they?

that may explain it

MDP...that was my only worry but I suspect they would have to if once again they were materially more than last reported. I have added to my holding at 5p having taken a risk at 4.5p but not prepared to pay more than that at this stage. If only they were my first and only purchases !

In the 2nd RNS - the Update
They state that all positions have now been closed.
But they did not state categorically that the $3.8m was the full and complete extent of the fx trading losses.

maybe that's enough to be 'materially below'?

only 5k avail online. Not much of a market here so looks like no one is selling at this level.

Probably about right there MDP..I think materially is just 10% either way so nearly 20% certainly must be. The problem is still whether that is the full extent of the losses ?

Closing balance at 31 Dec - $14.9m
Lose on fx $3.8m
Profit $1.5m - 1st half assuming 50/50 split
Projected balance at 30th June - $12.6m

ie - $2.3m reduction is materially below ...

I dont know, but my gut feeling is that companies use it as a warning.
it wasnt 'slightly below' or 'approximately $xm below'
what do you reckon?

the_doctor

the doctor.....What is your expectation of the amount that is 'materially' below ?
davidosh

Does nobody have an explanation for cash being materially below the year end figure when they should have been making cash and the speculation loss was supposedly only $3.8m

Just one offer now at 5p, next offer is 6p
