if the merger talks have broken down then surely SMC would bomb further, while AUK might bounce back?

Question: Why would AUK want to buy if as many suspect SMC may be in terminal decline? They would be taking on a pile of debt.

Why not just take over the contracts from the liquidator for a token amount before the Commissioning firms transfer the contracts?

Can anyone in the industry who may be on this board advise what is standard industry practice if the architect goes bust?

Look at companies going up then research. SMC, WNG, CART were always for gamblers

latifs...its effectively a closed period for director buying while merger talks are in progression. Sorry to hear about your loss but ifits any consolation I am pretty sure you were not the only one who bought at that time....and we have all mostly been stung by this company although most of us are no longer in it.

AUK has no debt and is very profitable. SMC have no cash and have millions in losses - 'turnover is vain, profits are sane' !

The chief architect (excuse the awful pun) of SMC's misfortunes has already gone and the very survival of SMC as an independent trading entity is at stake. A merger or takeover by AUK could even be their last throw of the dice !
