14/1/2011 13:36 | .K. small and medium-sized stocks comfortably outperformed the market as a whole during 2010, and will likely continue to do so in 2011, according to a report published Friday by Royal Bank Of Scotland Group PLC (RBS.LN) and two professors from the London Business School. The report shows that the small and mid-cap RBS HGSC Index--which comprises the bottom 10% by value of the London Stock Exchange's main market--achieved a total return of 26.4% in 2010, 11.9 percentage points above the FTSE All-Share index. Stephen Ford, head of UK Mid-Markets at RBS, said strong balance sheets, the benefits of restructuring, and rising revenue will likely drive further earnings growth in the sector for 2011. "Consequently we expect another year of outperformance against the main market," he added. | mister md

07/1/2011 17:54 | How does one differentiate between bearer and registered when buying and what is the tax position? I presume the dividend isn't declared net of 10% tax which covers the UK basic rate tax liability so it would complicate my tax return. (i.e. is the 6% yield only 5.4% after 10% UK tax?) | aleman
