25/5/2008 10:02 | I can think of better investments on AIM than Skywest right now, but I'd agree that this company is: 1. Profitable. 2. Growing. 3. Well run. 4. Undervalued in terms of share price. For those reasons, I'm sticking with the small holding that I currently have. | jimbo55
25/5/2008 09:51 | Chubb_2, hows this for you. you are a liar a thief and a totally discredited investor who spends his days spouting garbage. go back to your bedsit and try to work out why you are wasting your time stalking me. as usual you have picked on a company (SKYW) which is probably one of the soundest investments on AIM. YOU ARE A LOSER IN LIFE LIKE YOU WERE IN INVESTMENTS. TAKE A HIKE YOU BUM. | wozelbeak

22/5/2008 10:03 | Capital Lease Avaition have secured additonal finance this morning to be used on securing additional aircraft in June, therefore i think it is safe to say SKYW will be expanding the fleet again shortly as they are the main supplier of leased aircraft to them. Was interesting to see after re-reading the RNS the other day that they are to start to fly between perth and Karratha, this route has been a monopoly for Quantas for some time now who fly numerous flights a day, not unexpectedly as it is the second busiest route in western australia so will be interesting to see how they get on as initially they are only going to fly twice a week, if all goes well and they manage to gain some market share would hope to see some annoucements of extending the service. | stluke
19/5/2008 09:27 | It is typical of this current market to have a negative reaction on what was extremely positive news, business is obviously good on the current routes or otherwise they would not be laying on more services they would be cutting the freqency of services. As for the fuel levy increase which has to be the reason for the muted response so far today, i would make the following points 1) All other airlines are doing it so it is not specific to SKYW and passengers would be stupid not to expect it, they know as much as anyone else that oil has risen sharply. 2) The fact that they are doing it protects them from rising fuel prices therefore a good thing, it is unlikely to have any effect on pax numbers as evidenced by the fact they are having to put on more services because the demand is so strong. 3) and this one is often forgotten the contracts they have with all the major mining companies have agreements in place to compensate SKYW for rising fuel prices, so overall they have considerable protection from higher fuel costs without effecting pax numbers, i stick to my original post this was a very positive annoucement this morning, if they were not going to raise the fuel levy i would be more concerned. | stluke
19/5/2008 09:14 | stluke & Berny3 I am a holder and also at a loss to understand share price Maybe if and when they double the dividend the market might wake up and rerate!!!! | orado
19/5/2008 09:05 | It puzzles me why we have not a rerating of this stock. I think this is good news. The company must be seeing opportunities in ivesting in more and more routes. I am with you Stluke, I all ready have a position I have been building since the Advent Air days. I belive this company is in an ideal poistion to benefit over the next few years on the commodity boom and the prosperity that will bring to this area of Australia. It pays a nice healthy dividend that does not suffer the compulsary theiving gipsy tax of 10% in the UK. | berny3
19/5/2008 07:18 | Well that all seems very positive and it appears the fuel levy is also going to rise, which im sure is something other operators have done therefore will offset the higher fuel costs i mentioned in my previous posts. I have been building a position at these levels and will continue to do so before the inevitable rise. | stluke
09/5/2008 08:30 | Yes very good figures this month, nice to see the load factor going up after successive falls recently, the chartered flights numbers also just keep getting better as well, would be interesting to know if the company is passing on the increase in fuel costs to passengers as im sure that is what is holding the share price back. | stluke
09/5/2008 07:28 | Great April stats. | orado

30/4/2008 14:59 | M4L... Trades were on PLUS market. | orado
30/4/2008 14:48 | 3.3% Fall, with no selling? I am very tempted to buy more stock having earned over 1k in dividend payments during the past 6 months and double that in price appreciation since I first bought the shares. | m4lcolm
15/4/2008 08:27 | Screw the maekt. I may well have to buy a few more of these before it catches on. ;o) | jimbo55
14/4/2008 21:40 | wierd, totaly agree and can not work out why the market is not responding to this. Running through the figures I am getting a guestimate of $17mln SGD full year net profit. That should mean another healthy dividend | berny3
14/4/2008 11:10 | Great March figures, yet the market still ignores SKYW. | orado
05/4/2008 10:38 | I'm sure most of you will have seen this piece of news already, but to add to the informative nature of this thread, I'll include it here. Quoted from the ADVFN Newsfeed: > Skywest leases jet to Capital Lease Aviation at $100,000/month for 60 months > > LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Skywest Airlines Ltd. said its unit, Skywest > Airlines Pty Ltd., has signed a deal with AIM-quoted aircraft leasing company, > Capital Lease Aviation Plc. for one Fokker 100 jet aircraft. > The company said the aircraft has been leased at $100,000 per month plus > reserves for 60 months. Looks like they need some extra capacity. Certainly no bad thing. | jimbo55
28/3/2008 10:03 | Hi Standish, Yep, I agree. It makes sense for them to consolidate on their new capacity for the time being. ;o) | jimbo55
27/3/2008 16:05 | Most of the routes that Skywest currently fly have no competition and at this stage of their development I doubt that they would want to go head to head with other airlines which would almost certainly produce lower margins. They seem content to carry on doing what they have done well at so far.A strategy with which I agree. | standish11
27/3/2008 13:28 | The masses will notice one day people.............. I'm in Australia at the moment, and the few Aussies I've spoken to about airlines (such as who I can get city-city flights with) have all heard of Skywest. Not so many in Eastern Australia have used them at the moment though, and that's where the bulk of the Aussie population is. If they can expand into that market and take on carriers like Virgin Blue and Quantas (Domestic), they'll be laughing all the way to the bank. Most people I've spoken to who've flown domestic economy class with Quantas have complained of naff leg room......... | jimbo55
26/3/2008 11:08 | Snippet lifted from the UK Analysts Daily Stockmarket Report for yesterday... Skywest Airlines* (SKYW) shares ascended 0.25p to 15.25p, fuelled by a price target hike to 33p from 29p at broker WH Ireland. The broker, which reiterated its 'buy' recommendation for the shares, said results for the six months ended December 2007 "underlined the strength of the regional economy that Skywest operates in." It added that "Skywest is well placed to carry this performance through to the full year." | futre |
