22/3/2010 12:35 | RNS Number : 9332I Skywest Airlines Limited 22 March 2010 ? ASX code SXR AIM code SKYW 22March 2010 SKYWEST AIRLINES LTD ("Skywest" or "the Company") Skywest Airlines: Proven Best On Time Performance In The Country For The Month Of February Skywest Airlines, Western Australia's largest regional airline is the frontrunner for on time departure punctuality for the month of February 2010. The Australian Government's Bureau of Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Economics reports that Skywest's departure punctuality was at 88.8%, a figure higher than all other Australian airlines. Skywest's Executive Chairman, Jeff Chatfield, said: "Skywest recognises the importance of on time performance to its customers, both for scheduled charter clients as well as the flying public. We are striving to continue to improve our on time performance and as an initiative are adding additional fleet capacity as backup for breakdowns. We believe the economic value of an improved and reliable service will outweigh the initial costs. Skywest recently imported an additional turbojet aircraft for use on its coastal network to improve reliability and we are considering another jet aircraft dedicated to improving reliability." --ENDS-- | cockneyrebel
19/3/2010 13:38 | Could be an income fund buying a small stake, as the dividend is in Sing$ and is not to be sniffed at; both in terms of yield and the fact that Sterling is getting steadily weaker. Good prospects for further growth in the Asia Pacific region aswell. | jimbo55

13/3/2010 11:11 | Hi Stegrego - I've been buying these this week - look very interesting. Bought initially on the very high volume and large trades but having had time to read through a lot of the previous RNS's these look very cheap. They were highlighted to me by Liarspoker prior to the interims but I couldn't motivate myseldf to buy airlineshares in that climate. I suspect many felt just like me and hence there are probably some screaming bargains around in various 'hated sectors' that are actually coming along nicely. Small Co Share Watch today mentions that small cap stocks are increasing divi's faster than large caps - which has only happened twice in the last 60 years - leading to multi- year rallies in the stock market for small caps. One of the intereesting things is that a 10% revenue increase in H1 has seen them do earings in H1 that were 150% higher than that of the entire year last year. The contract announced on March 10th adds another 10% to the revenues again nearly. I don't know what the eps could be this year at this rate - quite possibly 3.5-4p I would guess. With the new contract they have signed it could mean a lot more in the coming year tho imo. Anyway - an interesting find I think and paying a decent yield too. CR | cockneyrebel
12/3/2010 07:10 | 18p is a break out point in my opinion. at the moment we are testing it, if we go through it, who knows where it might stop. December 07 was the last time we touched 18p, and we are in far better position now than then imho. | wozelbeak
11/3/2010 14:08 | This looks very undervalued. Current PE of < 5 and a 3.7% divi'. The fundamentals are very sound, multi national miners as clients as a time when natural resources prices are high. Earning in AUD, a currency likely to remain very strong given the 4% yield and apparently strong economy (relative the the rest of us anyway). I am a buyer. It also looks like some chunky stake building going on. The big trades today and yesterday have gone through at or near the offer price. And if that doesn't do it, the clear chart breakout should be of interest to many (that's what put these on my radar). I wont give any price target, but at 40p they would not look overly expensive. | indalo
10/3/2010 20:11 | SKYWEST AIRLINES LTD ("Skywest" or "the Company") SCHEDULED CHARTER ARRANGEMENT WITH CITIC PACIFIC MINING The Board of Skywest, the Australian and South East Asia regional airline, is delighted to advise that it has signed an agreement with CITIC Pacific Mining Management Pty Ltd (ACN 119 578 371) ("CITIC Pacific Mining") for a scheduled airline service between Perth and Karratha for employees of CITIC Pacific Mining. The Agreement's scope and revenue may increase should additional services be required and scheduled. The agreement provides for anticipated revenues to Skywest of AUD $10.4m per year. The Agreement is for an initial term of a year with a term extension option available to CITIC Pacific Mining and has terms typical for such charter arrangements. The Agreement is subject to monthly fuel rise and fall calculations. Skywest is the major airline servicing all major airports and population centres of Western Australia. The Company's operational base is in Perth, Australia. Jeff Chatfield, Executive Chairman, said: "We are pleased to enter into an agreement with an important mining operator in CITIC Pacific Mining. Skywest aims to provide world class reliable air transport services to the major mining operators in Western Australia. This arrangement is also important as it also allows 10% of the seats to be sold to regular travelling members of the public flying to and from Karratha." CITIC Pacific Mining is an Australian subsidiary of CITIC Pacific Limited, a Hong Kong incorporated company listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Its key business interests include property development, specialty steel and iron ore mining. Its majority shareholder is the CITIC Group, a large DIVERSIFIED Chinese state-owned enterprise. edit; it appears CITIC already have interests in aviation, i wonder if they are about to expand that interest into Australia? 23/2/2010 20:44 | Independent Skywest Airlines Our view: Buy Share price: 14.11p (+1.61p) The airlines are in trouble or so we are told. A cursory survey of headlines would lead you to think that the entire industry, bar none, had flown into the deepest, darkest, most turbulent stormclouds imaginable. And yet, we can't help but recommend Skywest Airlines, the Aim-listed carrier, which yesterday posted a 10 per cent hike in first-half revenues. The company has struck gold by ferrying miners in Western Australia. The region hosts commodity heavies such as Rio Tinto and BHP Billiton among others, and Skywest has been cashing in by flying their employees in and out of the mining areas. Yesterday, the airline said it was "tendering for various charter contracts", raising the prospect of higher recurring revenues in the future. The investment case is supported by a 3.9 per cent yield and a stock trading on an undemanding multiple of 4.3 times WH Ireland's full-year estimates. That falls to 2.8 times on the broker's numbers for 2011. Buy | stegrego
