Mind boggling indeed, Bron. As Sherlock nicely outline on the page above, 52920 of 52938

Drrichard .whomever stumped up the 500k for the licence would know precisely what the licence will bring and whomever sits on the sidelines with huge capex would of demanded the licence before any agreement could be signed off in my view.Since last July a chain of events have happened to get to where we are today ,not only by Sirius but also by others involved.Bodes well not only for the short term but also the medium term .Surely the potential is mind boggling.

Yep, Bron, mirrors my thoughts exactly. Placing away, funds in the bank. Licence and EIA in hand. Ready to sign off I hope.
And judging by the volume of buying the last few days It would appear that many are of the same opinion.

Having the licence ,it follows that Sirius has met all the terms that the government required .Perhaps the licence is the final domino. All other likely news in theory could be in the AD.Makes next week potentially an interesting week.

Maybe they've been working for some time on an end of July plan to make an announcement (Bobo did talk last year about the culmination of a plan). The way that news releases have come and particularly how the DPR/Federal Gov't stuff conveniently landed on time, gives me an impression that nothing has been left to chance and that this has all been coordinated in a structured manner...just as it should be.

They may well opt to issue the remaining available 125m equity prior to 6th August but if so, I wonder why they didn't just lump it together with the last placing and be done with it? Either the recipients are a different group / they want to use these as part of the already approved Director & employee 2p warrants / or they won't actually issue these prior to AGM (nothing to say that they have to or that we desperately need the extra working capital right now).

Sherlock .which fits with the theory by a few that shares are thin on the ground.Maybe the boomtown rats were off the mark when they said they didn't like Mondays.

MMs keep driving up the bid hunting for more shares. Methinks Cantor et al are expecting a bit more volume in the near future.

Those who sold expecting the usual drop back might be getting a tad nervous!

Have they got authority to release 160 mill shares ??

Final £400k next week. Placing at lowest poss level no doubt. 160m going out at 0.25p does the trick. Leaves the way all clear to release the info we've been waiting for. Expect to find that the Ororo field occupies a strategic position in this gas master plan designed to power the Nigerian economy. China/Nigeria enterprise linked to Havoc-Ophir suggests Ondo finance may be a combination of Chinese and Oz sources (MacQuarie.)

nice post Sherlock... one of my concerns is the LEK's 1% in OPL 241. They have an option to go to 10%...I wonder if this is a fly in the ointment down the line...especially if work is in progress at the moment?

Purely going by RNSs and how I believe that within these the Board have been carefully signposting what's around the corner (no one can say they weren't given the chance to buy cheaply), I really sense that we'll soon witness the birth of a significant Nigerian E&P to fill the Afren void and then some.

To do so we'll need 1) technical expertise 2) a potential pipeline of assets we can tap into 3) lots of money. We've made good strides on the tech side over the past two years and in the last month we've never been more overtly clear regarding our unique and hugely advantageous partner relationships.

Money has admittedly been a challenge, especially in the difficult climate. But I'd wager that on the strength of 1 & 2, combined with the attractive fiscal regime that Bobo talks about, the opportunity to devise a business right now that can withstand price volatility, the most attractive development costs for many years and Ondo state's increasing need to really get their assets moving, that we and our financial advisors could line up potential funding development partners. That much seems clear from the last RNS where we read the words 'funding proposal' and 'finance opportunities'. Are these actually any different from a funding offer?

I've been convinced for some time that we could build a very sizeable entity based purely on Ororo and the block. That we can also potentially expand this further with other exclusive assets, including even currently distressed producing ones, is frankly mind boggling.

It's difficult to know what kind of mcap we can build this to (with the right ingredients it surely has to be 9-figure and possibly even 10 over time and within a more positive O&G climate) but if we can get the right money on the table to begin with and a credible JV partnership or two, this will create a fantastic platform for growth. Secure Ororo funding in the coming days/weeks and I reckon everything else will surely follow.
