Analyst said £ v $ could go to 1.29 we would hit the jackpot with our dividend. That would give us 36.4p dividend on a unchanged 47 cents.

Having promised to borrow to maintain the dividend, how could he cut it without looking like a liar?

.....and the head man can 'say' he will not reduce the divi, ------does not mean that he WILL NOT.... if was in charge i WOULD cut it to keep some dosh for further rainy days to come, -- but then again - i am a heartless Tory !!

No credibility imo.

The author of the RBS ‘Sell everything’ note has been predicting disaster for the last five years

Oh, bravo - what insight and contextualisation of market factors.

I hope your short here - and on the stocks of all the other BBs that you post on - get severely burnt in a few days' time.

Do you work for those geniuses at RBS by any chance?

Yeah, I'm not sure about shareprice timetable either.

But I wouldn't rule out either a political crisis or a political deal to rapidly change the oil price. They say a week is a long time in politics. Except in Saudi perhaps where they're still waiting for middle ages to end. lol.

WhiskeyInTheJar,
I totally agree with your rationale...also, I note that the BP. share price has remained well up on the day at 335p, despite the fall in POO. I believe opportunities like this don't come around that often(..last time was 2008, I believe) , so whatever the outcome of the vote(..and I hope it goes through, as I'm a long term holder), I also believe the share price will recover to £20+ over the next three years, if not sooner...

U don't vote on BG. By taking options 1,2, 3or4 or default u are accepting the deal.if u do nothing u are accepting default ie: 383p+ .4454 shares per 1 BG share

has anyone with RDSB shares held in a nominee a/c been given the option to vote on this deal yet?
I have not heard anything from my BG.holding or Shell holding.
