It could stay at these levels for a few months though, ruskkis and saudis at loggerheads, travel obviously very low (demand) But you would think these are safe levels ro invest at long term it has to recover

I doubt anyone will be able to pick up these under £12 for long on Monday given oil and DOW rise just now.

Neither can I as heavily invested here and BP.Anyone have a view on worse case? Saudi and Russia hold out for 12 months - can they survive and would govnt intervene like did with banks?

Nor me. I cannot believe what I am seeing.

If Shell is not back above £13 by c.o.b Monday, something is severely wrong.

I have bought in SIPP 7500 RDSB this past week along with 25000 bp - spent about 180k to purchase between £10k and £20k PA income depending on whether the companies maintain or perhaps halve their dividends, i have another £200k + left in cash to buy more of these or others blue chip high yielding companies.
oil has been low for a few weeks, may continue for days, weeks, months, or a year or so but eventually POO will turn around and hopefully the Coronavirus scare will be behind us, if it turns into much worse a situation i think i will have a lot more to worry about than a silly share price...
Good luck and best of health to all - thank you for your contributions recently.

This is all so completely pointless.

Shut down all trading of the filthy shorters.

This has now become an utter disgrace.

Trump will now buy up the ludicrous extra cheap supplies.

It's all mad.

WHERE IN SPAIN

I'm an asset based value investor; it's what I do for a living.

I almost never put money in large caps. But RDSB's price today - below 11 quid - is factoring in utter and long-lasting disaster. Which is unlikely. So I've started buying in. And will pick up more, if the price drops back further.

I live in Spain and the schools and unis and some workplaces are shut to try to stave off COVID-19. Even so, life goes on. People are going mad shopping - hoarding - and are abandoning public transport in favour of their own cars. Long lines at the petrol stations.

Many deaths here. But only mild panic so far. UK may get to this point in a couple of weeks. Society and economic activity continues.

The fact is, we may be sitting on lost gains and out and out losses on portfolios (not just shell) but the fact is it's moments like this which is what generates big returns in the long run. My pension payments at work will go in at lower prices now and grow over 30 years. Ironically it's these sell offs that allow better long term returns although painful as it may seem now. For older investors, shell will continue to pay the dividends so it's all good
