24/5/2018 00:09 | Brent crude average for 2018Q2 is currently $74.14. Results for Shell's Q2 are going to be superb. If this continues for the next 5 weeks, I'd expect RDSB to hit over £30 before quarter end. FJ | fjgooner
23/5/2018 19:26 | The world has gone mad,so what other things are there that companies do that affect the planet. What about soya beans, palm oil, timber felling of hardwoods, cattle rearing, mass food production, mining,et I'm losing the will to live the way the world is going... | 2hoggy

23/5/2018 17:18 | ....yes but my point was why do they invest in oil companies and then spend their time undermining them? | emptyend
23/5/2018 10:38 | Looking at today's metrics is just a snapshot in time. Every gambler (I gambled on farming for 30 years and it did not work very well) is different and an assessment on any company is very dependent on your timescale. A day trading view is totally different from a lifetime view (which is my view). A 20% gearing for Shell is important because management said they would initiate a 25 billion USD share buyback programme at that level. As I take a long term view the very long term prospects of the company combined with a trustworthy and capable management and workforce are the factors that interest me the most. Day traders and gamblers with a shorter term view will look for opportunities. | petepitstop
23/5/2018 09:12 | .....I notice the Church of England throwing its weight around on this one. Why do they still invest? | emptyend

23/5/2018 08:28 | RDSA 4.5971 billion shares x 27 GBP = 124 billion GBP, RDSB 3.7455 billion shares x 28 GBP = 105 billion GBP. 124 billion GBP + 105 billion GBP = 229 billion GBP equity capital. | petepitstop
23/5/2018 07:48 | Equity capital is around 235 billion GBP at the moment. | petepitstop
23/5/2018 07:42 | pete for us mere mortels, please convert your academic maths into an equivalent share price as a side note have a nice day | ariane
23/5/2018 07:28 | 20 percent gearing may look like this; 60 billion GBP net debt divided by equity capital of 240 billion GBP plus 60 billion GBP net debt which equals 300 billion GBP total capital. | petepitstop
23/5/2018 07:00 | most things happen later then sooner, unless of course you have murphys law or a ww3 | sarkasm
23/5/2018 01:13 | And that would be classic economic cycle completion. So let's hope that it happens later rather than sooner. A $60 to $80 range will do fine. FJ | fjgooner
