Broker targets are mainly 3000 and one at 2800.

The way that oil prices are going right now - with multi-year highs for both Brent and WTI - let alone improving natural gas prices, I don't think it'll take long to hit that 2675 target.

That's an interesting video on your link and well worth a full watch through.

Doug Terreson discusses how highly he values those energy companies that have pledged to return value to shareholders as oil prices trade higher (rather than add capex to lower yielding production). He is clearly very keen on Shell for those reasons.

He also sees Brent most likely to be trading at $70 to $75 during 2018 and states that this will provide huge free cash flows that will enable the "pledgers" such as Shell return enhanced value to shareholders.

All extremely promising for the year ahead.

Good to note the quarterly average is $61, so compared to the previous Q @ $52 results can only be good. To note also that this next Q will start at a $66 level so will be posting a strong forward position every day it remains at these levels and to not beat a $61 average would need a good period back at $55 levels. A way off given immediate upside issues as below The US weather issue is set to get worse. Tuesday gas usage was 31% above normal with heating oil along similar you would think. The future charts are remarkable with Cities as far apart as Chicago, New York & Washington not having a minute above ZERO in the next 7 day period. Chicago's highest temp in the next 168 hours will be MINUS 9c. Central heating on 24/7?Best wishes and a prosperous New Year to all

Shell to increase North Sea production in ‘coming days’

Oil giant Shell has confirmed that it will undertake a phased increase in production within the “coming days” from its Shearwater and Nelson platforms now that the Forties pipeline has been mechanically repaired.

Ineos confirmed yesterday that it expects the North Sea pipeline to be back to normal rates “around New Year”.

Following Ineos’ announcement, BP and Shell confirmed that they would begin partial restarts to production.

A Shell spokesperson said today: “Shell UK can confirm that production operations have restarted on the Shearwater and Nelson platforms in the central North Sea, with a phased increase in production planned over the coming days.”
