08/8/2021 09:29 | Patrick Moore8 Aug 2021 9:26AMSunak should be asking Boris the following questions:1.Does he really think that relying on overseas manufactured wind and solar intermittent energy systems with back up interconnectors to access, particularly, French controlled nuclear generated energy is compatible with the UK sovereignty he was expected to fully support when he was entrusted with Brexit delivery and given a 70 seat majority?2.Does he really think that it makes economic sense to duplicate capital investment in a 100% available power generation capability to achieve the backup generation capability required because a Conservative Government has decided that it is acceptable for the primary National sources of energy supply to be intermittent in nature?3.Does he understand and support the sleight of hand used to make the lower energy cost case put forward by wind and solar suppliers to sell the Electorate the economic benefits of renewable technology while downplaying the supporting capital provided by existing non-transparent tax payer funded subsidies and contracts for difference incentives?4.The UK FI(RE)S Study acknowledges that technology will not be in place by 2050 to achieve Net Zero and, even if it was, is he aware of the very limited implementation success of the 'smart meter' installation programme which pales into insignificance in terms of installation costs when compared with the likely implementation costs of Net Zero?5.Does he really think that countries which have introduced cross continental oil and gas pipelines will write these assets off in the next 30 years to follow the UK's ludicrous, self harm example of reducing its net world emissions contribution to 0% from around 1%?6.Is he aware that his proposed £25 Billion to offshore wind turbine manufacture to China and achieve his target capacity of 30gw offshore is estimated to require 17,000 wind turbines in an area of the North Sea the size of Wales with major environmental consequences for pelagic sea birds, the fishing industry and other maritime activities?7.Is he conscious of the National Security risk of having key energy infrastructure sited distantly offshore and exposed to hostile intent? Is he aware that this risk is exacerbated by putting reliance on potential backup supplies from the continent when those supplies may be withheld; the French threat to Jersey comes to mind?8.Is he aware that 7% of the UK's Global Emissions, or 23 million tonnes of CO2 equivalent per year, is generated by its marshes and peatlands? If so, why is this aspect apparently receiving no attention in order minimise the social and economic risk of achieving Net Zero?9.The Government, apparently, has only recently become aware of and started publicising the importance of fresh air in the home to promote a healthy environment. Conversely, is he aware of the inevitable health problems of hermetically sealed and totally insulated properties being proposed to try and make the limitations of heat pump capability suitable for domestic purposes?10.Is he really aware of the extent of building conversion costs, ground space requirements, skilled labour requirements, heating performance limitations and ground pollution risk from ground source heat pumps involved in converting England's high density housing environment before 2040; particularly where combination boilers have been fitted to save space?11.Is he aware of the extent of building conversion costs, skilled labour requirements, wall space requirements, heating performance limitations and noise pollution risk of air source heat pumps involved in converting England's high density housing environment before 2040; particularly where combination boilers have been fitted to save space?12.When will he be banning oil fired and calor gas central heating systems?13.When will he be banning fossil fuelled PSVs, HGVs and LGVs? In 2050 or will he continue to maintain suitable refuelling infrastructure, not to be used by private vehicles, while still debating the viability of hydrogen fuel cells?14.When will he be banning the use of fossil fuelled motorcycles and scooters used by millions but arguably more polluting than fossil fuel cars? Will it be before 2050 or will he continue to maintain suitable refuelling infrastructure?15.Wi | xxxxxy

It has never been used in a gas grid supply to homes..... Daily Telegraph | xxxxxy
