                  Appointment of a new non-executive director

As announced on 31st January, 2002, the Board of Arthur Shaw & Company PLC, 
("Arthur Shaw"), has appointed Richard J Halcrow to the Board of Arthur Shaw as 
a non-executive director, with effect from 30th January, 2002.

He was a director of K.P.M. Halcrow Limited, an executive search company, and
resigned in August 2001.  In December 2001, K.P.M. Halcrow Limited went into
administrative receivership with an estimated deficiency of approximately
£80,000, almost half of which is owed to the present directors.

In respect of Mr Halcrow there are no other details to report under paragraph
6F2(b) to (g) of the UK Listing Authority Listing Rules.
