26/11/2015 14:04 | IC SELL note at 91.75p seems to have more or less called bottom! | wad collector
05/11/2015 14:39 | I suspect yesterday's late buys may have been a leakage of today's in line figures , though the market looks a bit confused about them today - down 4p to open and now climbing sharply again. | wad collector
04/11/2015 19:19 | Ta, Ivyhuang. Trading statement 5 weeks ago said interims would be "in line." What happened at 4:15pm today to make people buy? I've no idea, but the morning will tell us if they were correctly onto something. | ed 123
04/11/2015 18:02 | Interim results scheduled by company tomorrow. | ivyhuang
04/11/2015 16:45 | Yep, it was all a bit sudden, just before the end. Wonder why they didn't do it more gradually? | ed 123
04/11/2015 16:37 | Bit of a sneaky rise up to the bell ; looks like triple figures again soon. 3 month high. | wad collector
30/10/2015 14:15 | Promising bit of share price activity this afternoon ; could be just noise ? | wad collector
15/10/2015 17:15 | Share price up another 3% today on a strong volume (2.5 million shares, or 4 x average volume). I don't know what's behind it but I'm not complaining. Same again tomorrow, please! | ed 123
14/10/2015 15:22 | Yes, it's working well for holders. Order book looks very strong. I wonder, could it be no more than a flight to steady earnings? A reponse to worries about global slowdown? I wouldn't say, "No", to a takeover bid, though. | ed 123
14/10/2015 15:15 | Word about the IC sell note is obviously getting around as it passes 94p today! | wad collector
11/10/2015 22:22 | wad collector Yes, it's tempting to go against an IC recommendation. I added some Shanks, myself, on Friday. The order book looked interesting. | ed 123
11/10/2015 21:00 | Sell note from IC last week after the update citing weak oil prices holding back the hazardous waste division and dodgy Belgian division (at 91.75P). Usually something reassuring about an IC sell note! | wad collector
27/8/2015 00:08 | 26-Aug-15 SHANKS GROUP Credit Suisse Outperform 0.92p 1.15p Reiteration | cyfran101
08/7/2015 08:35 | I think the Euro is savaging the share price now, impressive 18% drop to 97p. RSI has dropped to new lows ; time to add? | wad collector
12/6/2015 07:39 | 1 Year high broken , I suspect that there will be a few broker target adjustments as this has now hit Credit Suisse's longstanding target. | wad collector
22/5/2015 09:43 | Moving towards a 12 month high today , yesterday's finals were fairly bad , but perhaps not quite as bad as expected. Flat dividend will have to do as for last 3 yrs. Still below the yield of 1998. 21 May 2015 Shanks Group plc Shanks Group plc (LSE: SKS), a leading international waste-to-product business, today announces its results for the year ended 31 March 2015. Commenting on the results, Peter Dilnot, Group Chief Executive of Shanks Group plc, said: "After a challenging first half of the financial year, we delivered our committed stronger second half performance. Our core Dutch solid waste markets are developing as predicted, with some encouraging evidence of improvement. We continue to invest in infrastructure that will deliver high-quality earnings growth and these projects are on track. In addition, we have a refined strategy and a new organisation structure to deliver profitable growth. The Board's expectations for the year ended 31 March 2016 remain unchanged excluding the impact of a fluctuating Euro exchange rate on our reported results." Business Overview -- Challenging year, particularly in the first half, with market pressure in Benelux Solid Waste and one-off operational challenges in Hazardous Waste associated with new investment. -- Business improvement programmes have delivered a stronger underlying second half and positioned the Group well for future growth. -- Core Dutch solid waste markets beginning to improve. -- Achieved 'financial close' for long-term Municipal contracts in Derby, UK and Surrey, Canada. -- GBP200m build of plants in Wakefield and Barnsley, Doncaster and Rotherham (BDR) close to completion; both to commission this year. -- Continued investment through the cycle in Hazardous Waste in infrastructure that is expected to deliver sustainable high quality earnings. Strategy and Divisional Structure -- Refined vision, strategy and organisational structure in order to ensure that they remain sharp, focused and relevant to our evolving markets. -- New divisional structure implemented to align our businesses more closely with our customers, deliver synergies and accelerate growth. Financial Summary -- Performance in line with trading update issued on 31 March 2015, with second half improvement delivered. -- Revenue increased 1% at constant currency, with underlying growth from UK Municipal. -- EBITDA down 10% at constant currency to GBP73.0m. -- Underlying profit before tax down by 22% to GBP21.7m at constant currency. -- Underlying EPS down 7% at constant currency due to lower effective tax rate. -- Total Group exceptional and non-trading charges of GBP42.2m as previously disclosed. -- Ongoing focus on capital discipline delivered strong cash performance, with lower than expected core net debt at GBP155m and net debt to EBITDA ratio of 2.3x. -- Final dividend maintained at 2.35p per share, reflecting confidence in medium term growth. | wad collector

04/3/2015 00:12 | Booming construction in UK and Holland will propel this share forward, not bid potential. | cyfran101
03/3/2015 21:11 | Tough company to predict, quasi utility with pioneering technology in Canada and North America not completed until 2017 which could be very attractive to a consolidator wishing to acquire higher margin business in Europe or possibly Canada. European trading expected to improve but partly offset by weak currency. Not cheap forward P/E 2016 21.2x and 2017 18.8x. The only remaining independent medium size waste management group. I think some time it will be bid for but how long can you wait and what is the opportunity cost. Digital Look Forecast Year Ending Revenue (£m) Pre-tax (£m) EPS P/E PEG EPS Grth.
