28/8/2013 17:02 | Erogenous Jones, Thanks. Check out the last trade today. £1 could be coming sooner than we think. The SHANKS price action since mid June is very impressive, outperforming the FTSE 100 and FTSE Allshare. | contrarian2investor

08/8/2013 18:42 | hxxp://www.waste-man 2013-08-08 EDINBURGH, United Kingdom, Aug. 7 -- Shanks Waste Management Ltd., Glasgow, won a 7 million GBP (excluding VAT) multiple awardees contract award from City of Edinburgh Council to provide a domestic waste collection and disposal service (Contract Award Notice No.: 2013/S 152-265446). According to the description: "The City of Edinburgh Council (the Council) has a statutory obligation under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 to provide a collection and disposal service for domestic waste generated by residents. In addition, the Council is required to make available a collection and disposal service to trade, commercial and retail concerns. The Council processes the resultant mixed municipal solid waste through its Powderhall Waste Transfer Station the majority of which then goes via rail to Dunbar. The Council wishes to re-let the Framework Agreement that it has in place to act as a contingency arrangement to safeguard the continuation of these functions in the event of Powderhall Waste Transfer Station becoming inoperable or inaccessible. Were this to occur contractors appointed to the Framework Agreement would become involved in the reception, stockpiling and transport of the waste to Dunbar or such other site as the Council nominates of municipal solid waste." 31/7/2013 16:12 | Who is buying is key -at these volumes. Or is it an agreed swap between major players? Nice to see though as long as it grows!!! Could this be a bid accumulation? Doubt that still as PI in the dark till RNS issued. | craigends

25/7/2013 10:59 | Nothing really in the update and to be honest was not expecting much Interesting to see that the famous Belgian dentist is alive and well as the Belgium retail market must be very deep if it can absorb £85m of bonds of a company like Shanks in 2.5 days They referred to meeting the Board's expectations rather than market expectations; I did go to Digital Look to check market expectations for this FY ending March 14. They are for revenue of £672m-six months ago they were forecasting £712m for this FY and eps at 5.11p-six months ago the comparable forecast was 6.12p. In the year ending March 2013 Revenue was £670m and underlying eps was 5p-so inching forward if the market expectations are met. Not sure if I see anything to move the share price out of a 77/87p channel and intend to stick to what I have | cerrito
