31/7/2024 08:45 | Interesting Auctus note (free on Research Tree). If all the political risk is now priced in, could folk in SQZ still be blindsided by a recession? | arlington chetwynd talbott
30/7/2024 15:38 | Be another 100 Billion black hole if they lose o&g tax revenue. I like the bit where they'll pay tax credits for renewable infrastructure investment where the hell is that money going to come from? | creditcrunchies
30/7/2024 11:46 | Sorry guys, but it looks like dividend will be cut. A lot of uncertainty here. I was tempted at 150, pleased I didn't indulge. Sub 100 could be on the cards. | pinemartin9
30/7/2024 10:47 | Govt need to tread carefully over North Sea operators. If it destroys these there will be little in tax receipts and a big amount needed for all the universal credit claims because of lost jobs. How much will that cost. | pjackson2
30/7/2024 10:36 | Some of the Jonny come latelys who only bought on the 2022 price spike and the over leveraged are panicking! Lots of lessons being learned on this one! C | oilinvestoral
30/7/2024 10:14 | It's funny seeing the market reaction in the share price to the "news" from Labour. Some people seem to be surprised that Labour actually followed through on their promise to tax the oil companies. For me the windfall tax is already priced in. The big question now is how does Serica management deal with the new environment. It would seem obvious to me that any new North Sea oil development is dead in the water. What I want to know is does that extend to the re-development of the Buchan field? This project is already fairly well advanced and a somewhat known prospect. Management would need to give some clarity on that for a start. We would also want to understand what they intend on doing with future capital allocation. Are they going to just sweat the existing assets and pay out dividends/share buybacks, or are they going to try buy some overseas assets? This could still work out well for shareholders as long as management don't do something stupid and overpay for a bad asset. | tabhair
30/7/2024 08:56 | Glad I didn't top up in the 160s! Held my finger on the buy button a few times. This has been the definition of catching a falling knife! Incidentally cash in the bank should've been higher than market cap today. Even if Labour government rendered BKR worthless, cash in the bank should be worth something. I know some are allergic to TA but gap closure should provide support in the 116-118 area ... It's a gamble buying before October | oilinvestoral
30/7/2024 08:48 | Chart has suggested £ for a while; but you are being paid to be patient. This should be what value investing is all about. I'm surprised that some peeps are in here at all. | brucie5

30/7/2024 07:42 | I'm sure the lovely Rachel still has a surprise or two for 30th October...:-)...alth | sawney
30/7/2024 07:41 | The full details are not yet known and will be set out by Reeves in October. One has to differentiate between investment and capex allowanes. I am continuing to average down since I think the latter will not be removed. | yasx
30/7/2024 07:38 | I'm back in. I reckon that all the bad news is now in the price. A good re-entry point. Interesting that SQZ has been hit this morning but Ithaca has hardly been touched. | lord gnome
30/7/2024 07:32 | A pretty good gamble though. | nigelpm
30/7/2024 07:32 | You would like to think so but it's a gamble. | dcarn
30/7/2024 07:30 | Worth topping up here. I still think they'll end up rowing back on this stuff when common sense comes back. | nigelpm
30/7/2024 07:28 | asset direction required. will wait till some news on that front before revisiting. | upwego
30/7/2024 07:22 | Can't believe people still post here? We all like a strong balance sheet and prospects but these can be found outside of UK waters if you look hard enough. The only way this will go up is a political u-tern. | mrscruff
30/7/2024 07:20 | Don't worry, Ed Milliband will make us a Renewable Energy Superpower... | spectoacc
