CCPwhy the frigg are you running you questions by Nigel? If you want to ask about Mitch's sacking you can do that! If you want to ask about taxes you can do that! As long as you are respectful and courteous in the way you ask I see no problem with asking whatever you want as a shareholder! Nigel is one of those people who likes to comment on other people's posts but never adds any value himself! His go to response is to say others are wrong while providing nada evidence to the contrary! Save your self the hassle and stop asking Nigel for permission like he is some sort of administrator!

Good points coffee and a good question.

Bounty I think if we were being pedantic we can say they are not delayed as per listing rules! They are simply later than any other Serica results issued in the past 10 years. Probably for good reasons but we will soon find out.So yes they are technically delayed relative to previously issued results

"Mitch referenced tax lobbying in a previous IMC."///Yes Nigel but that was many months ago and arguably things are worse now that we know how much tax we are actually paying. May be wishful thinking but I'm hoping they are applying more pressure. Also it's not Mitch this time!

Agreed Bounty - perhaps more concerning it got a thumbs up.

Yes Mick I agree with you but most of what they have to say should already be in the public domain. It's also encouraging that directors have bought shares since the start of 2024 with no sales so I'm not expecting them to shoot themselves in the foot. :-)
Nigel, yes that post was wrong and consequently misleading so no harm in both of us having now correcting it.

They didn't delay the results.

Surely most of what will be in the results is known already since we had a reserves and production update on 7 March and anything significant in the short space of time since then would need to be RNS'd. The main thing we don't know is the level of the dividend.

After yesterday's big drop for no apparent reason, I'm expecting bad news. This company has more leaks than the vegetable aisle at Tesco.

It's pretty close to the date last year so nothing to get worried about there. What are you on about re a results date change? There was no change, and I'd take it as a plus that there is an accompanying presentation not to mention the director buys since the start of the year with no sales.

you have to wonder why they kept delaying the results date then all of a sudden an RNS comes out with CEO change date / presentation / results date change. Not a good sign because it probably means they're gonna get whacked with tax and behind the scenes they need to find lipstick for the pig to try to stabilise the announcement. So could be a big dip coming.

Mitch referenced tax lobbying in a previous IMC.

He said something along the lines that SQZ were engaging with both the existing Government and discussions had taken place with Labour.

I'm not sure you'll get much more detail than that but worth asking the educated question.

I think the ones that are bugging are the future M&A Plans and while they have been referenced in presentations I'm still needing clarity. Also tax reform / lobbying is still bugging me. If you have found an answer to that feel free to share it ...

FWIW - I went through RNS and previous presentations and found answers to all questions that were still bugging me to some degree. It's amazing how actually reading RNS generally gives investors what they need.

Talking about diversifying away from the NS I also hold I3E who pivoted away from the NS a couple of years back. After a ballistic run up, they’ve drifted down with AIM but the fundamentals and divi are great. FYI They just broke out if anyone’s interested. DYPR - (but don’t hang around).

I'll give it some thought and list whatever I decide to submit.

For what it's worth I regularly submit at least a couple of sensible questions at these IMC events.

I've asked a few questions.Mainly do with their future M&A Plans and diversification away from the UK.Also asked if they are in dialogue with the government over tax reform.Just to put it bed , I've asked if there was any particular reason for the CEO change. If it's simply a retirement then they should say so. What's your thoughts Nigel ? Have you got any burning questions?

An investor meet as well.

Let's hope it's not littered with irrelevant and stupid questions.

The last few I've watched on other stocks have been painful at times.

I'd suggest anyone who asks a question thinks about it before posting.

Call me old fashioned but I would rather be receiving money on my mounds of cash deposits rather than paying interest (under the guise of slightly reducing the tax bill). Each to their own though ...

Great point nigelpm. If the marginal tax rate is 70% that means HMRC , in effect, picks up all but 30% of the interest cost.
The company could embark on dividend or buybac with debt.
This is another ridiculous example of how screwed up the UK tax policy is.
