Best of luck mate - but you know - we've still got Columbus FID / Row exploration well - then hopefully some more BKR news which should all cause some excitement? I thought the old (investment) maxim was sell 50% each time the shares went up 100% - trouble is I've never kept to that - sometimes made more sometimes lost a load - never learn though lol!! The other maxim was sell in May... lol! | dunderheed
25/5/2018 18:29 | Well for the first time in 12-ish years, I am now fully out of SQZ (and finally totally out of AIM after 16 years...thank f..). I've made a packet with SQZ, (mainly during a mad moment around Dec/Jan 2014/15 when I bought 275,000 for between 3 and 5p), but as I'm getting long in the tooth, I decided to protect the gains made. This is no reflection on SQZ, they have a fantastic management and have achieved so much with Erskine and now this potential deal (they just perhaps need a little PR team) As I see it, this deal is a bit out of SQZ/BP control at the moment, and requires serious Government intervention...(like the UK Gov doesn't have enough problems) So I will sit this out until real signs appear although it's difficult to see much happening before September). Even if the deal was announced tomorrow, I'd be happy to pay the premium to get back in as I just get the impression that further deals could be in the pipeline long term Someone somewhere asked recently about the right time to sell. Well I think I got it right for 50% of my holding, and partially right for the rest. I have also exorcised a ghost or two....remember PCI ?. I recall a day when the price peaked at around 220p?, but I only caught it at 190p. My finger was poised over the sell button but I thought..... it would peak again...needless to say I eventually lost the lot.Oh happy days :-(. If I recall correctly, on that same day Steelwatch announced that he had sold at 210/220p ish ??? Whatever, I wish all SQZ holders, especially the long term holders, the very best.... | sawney
25/5/2018 16:57 | Chesty buddy, someone may say you're trying to de ramp a bit lol! So good you had to say it three times?! Look from my perspective the US is pushing way too hard in all directions. Whilst I fully appreciate it is far and away the world's biggest player, both militarily and economically, it cant take on the whole of the world for ever! If I was SQZ - bloody take the deal - back dated to January 1st - get the cash in - worse case Rhum goes offline, they've still got Bruce, Keith and Erskine plus a wad of cash and with Rhum not producing they don't have to pay for Royalty or lump sums (or it should be re-negotiated in that way about lump sums, if not already the case plus if off shore guys have nothing to do there should be an attempt to re-deploy them back at BP if within 6 months of deal, although that may be difficult, with BP own job cuts forecast in the near term) There all sorted, job done, off out now for some nice sliced fried gold and a few drinks to celebrate! | dunderheed
