Boris I think we close the year out with gold over 1750. Could be significantly above that but that's roughly where I am at. I see the gold trend now as a long term rally, not a spike. The new 1300 level will be around 5000 to 7000 imo.

$2000 isn't unrealistic for gold short term. $3000-5000 if countries revert to gold standard. If so SRB at 60,000 out out a year would make US$60m (@$2000) and US$180M (@4000) a year. Could easily be a US$1-2B business. Say US$1.5B, £1.25B which is approx x30 of existing MCAP.

I think he's also written the Fat Bible. For a small fee he can tell you how to get the perfect six pack with only a 15 second workout for two days. Gold $8,000!!!

Hector-p Real interesting one, how gold mining stocks will perform in a market crash. The difference this time is gold mining stocks have been very lowly rated wrt gold price, and this has been the case for some years. In 2008 mining stocks had been more highly valued wrt the gold price . Thus while there may be scope for a reduced price of gold mining stocks in a market crash, this drop if it happens would likely be on a much lesser scale than in 2008. Gold mining stocks are still highly undervalued wrt the gold price, and I think they present the best opportunity now to ride the gold bull market which looks as though it is now underway

Hector the difference with the end of 2008 financial crisis gold stocks were on a downward trend from being overpriced as gold was increasing dramatically this time round gold stocks are adjusting from lower lows in 2016 so the chances are gold will surpass all time highs before a complete crash is completed so a gold pull back will be expected at which point gold stocks will have mulibagged

Imo, the difference this time is that there won't be any real safe place to hide.

Safe bonds are yielding negative. Interest rates are already pretty non-existent and presumably in a downturn would go lower.

It'll be a dash to preserve assets rather than seeking a return - where better than bullion.

Hi, I bought some MML at 17.9p so not far behind!.Stocks like MML and SRB are so cash generative and at such a low p/e rating that surely they would not be impacted - provided PoG vs AISC remains reasonable - the fly in the ointment is that neither currently pays a dividend to attract/retain income investors, although MML could IMO pay a handsome one.. I had thought that in the current environment in the event of a market crash there would be a flight-to-safety mentality and PoG would be spared or even prosper..Food for thought, tightfist

Littlepuppi7 .. thanks for your posts . I think the fundamental difference vs TSG will be the dividend IMO . If Serabi can pay a dividend within the next 2 years then it would add further confidence and boost the share price substantially .. all in my humble opinion of course .

Gold miners have been bucking the recent trend and rising on very red days. There will always be winners even in a falling market. Gold rising like this usually sees the stock market fall.

I'm not sure serabi would crash tbh - its debt that kills companies in a downturn?

remember chaps that while gold miners will follow gold, they are companies, and are part of the stock market, which looks likely to fall hard soon, taking gold minders down too.
You may not believe it but gold mining stocks fell over 60% when the last stock market crash happened. When a crash occurs, funds and large investors, even banks seek basic liquidity, dumping even their client fund's shareholdings.
Current stock market pricing reflects the longest bull market ever, and gold bugs and traders know, that prices should not be as they are. This suggests the big crash will be very big , if, it happens, and it has to some day soon.
The time to buy Serabi, MML. HOC etc,is some weeks or months after the crash. Only gold and silver metal ownership, can save us when there is such a crash.Take it from me, I bought Medusa at 16p after the last one.

And by the end of 2019 we will have paid for Coringa and be in a position to develop it. Assuming we are throwing off around 1m a month in fcf I would hope we can do it via small debt raise and cash... obviously as production then ramps up even more cash will roll in... this will be a decent size player soon.

The market cap disparity between Serabi (£38m) & Trans Siberian Gold £115m) is crazy...

TSG produced 21k Oz in H1 at an ASIC of $1049, so almost exactly the same as Serabi.

TSG had cash at year end 18 of $9.7m, vs $9.2m for Serabi.

They do have a larger current JORC resource of approx 800k Oz, pay a dividend and had profit before tax of £16m (mainly due to having no depreciation charge, vs Serabi’s $10m).

None of that explains the £77m difference in value, for two companies producing the same amount of a commodity in similar risk jurisdictions.

I think the results on Wednesday will bring Serabi to the attention of the wider market & kick off the re rate to £1+, this is truly a bargain at present.

A phenomenon I know as Backwardation. If you try to trade it is normally declined by my broker, I believe whilst the MM's transfer stock to unwind the situation. I have noticed that it tends to be immediately followed by rapid price action.....Any other experience welcome.....
