Alongside Serabi AAZ is also roaring away with fantastic reserves and a possible bidding war looming.Gold is where l want to be,under the bed and in gold producers. CNR is also one to watch for the future.

Logan agree, I see it as the currency equivalent of an ugly contest with the least ugly ( usd ) coming out on top currently...

little - This time it's different, before with the agreement of other central banks, each central bank took it in turn to devalue their currency to give them a boost, however this time round it seems to me there is little to no agreement as they all want to get to the bottom at the same time as quickly as possible.

Germany already in recession, with a hard Brexit they will be hit the second hardest behind Ireland in terms of loss of GDP. Germany will not be able to find any money for a stimulus package as this money will be needed to fill the EU contributions hole left by the UK leaving and the EU budget has been increased.

Well Trump's antics after close are pointing to a >1% drop in US equities at this very early stage of the long weekend. I suppose that already equates to gold at $1,550 or more come Monday.

If they do get the PEA here out on tues I think boris will have to be quick with the flares and platforms, then eyeliner, then hopefully whatever came later on.

Yep currency war is on logan. Been saying it for a while. Tsx Srb closes up 6 percent. Mirrors London. Gold just needs to re rate significantly. It's finally breaking out and we will see 2000 soon. What does that mean for Srb? Probably 200p per share for starters.

The problem is almost all countries want to devalue their currencies.

Tariffs have just been raised by Trump, by the way. Existing $250bn will be raised to 30% from 25% and additional $300bn will be raised to 15% from 10% from 1st September.

It won't be long until they move to devalue the dollar. Not joking...

You're saying we're a 'Tweet' away from $1,600!!!

A move towards $1,600 an ounce is looking more and more probable next week, according to some analysts.

"It looks like upside momentum is building and a breakout above that $1,540 [is possible]. If gold closes on the high and Trump has additional tweets over the weekend, we could really threaten a breakout above $1,540 on Sunday. At $1,540, anyone who got out will probably jump back in, anticipating another move up above $1,600," RJO Futures senior market strategist Phillip Streible told Kitco News on Friday.

By the end of this year Chinese tariffs on car imports could be as high as 50%, will hit the Germans very hard and also putting 5% tariff on oil imports from the US.

Just hit 6300! I think PEA or not we’ll see 75p on Tuesday. Also to reiterate PPVN’s post earlier re. Peel Hunt, I can confirm that the target price has been upped from 130 to 160, it’s published on the broker notes section of the shares magazine website. So an upgrade of 23% which leaves us even more undervalued, and it seems as though Garraway is done - today was the first time I’ve ever seen the spread within 1/2p, which is a sure sign the MM’s have run out of free stock.

Yes surge came late in the day. I had a feeling the early sellers would regret it when pog looked like turning, the sells didn't knock the bid and then gold just started moving. It's deffo been held back. Vested interests do not want gold to rise significantly for many reasons, but th me political and economic realities are such now that it has to head higher and settle at new levels, wh ih will imo be significantly higher than here and be highly materially significant for us. This share will multi multi bag imo.

Could sell at 69.10 at close, NT to buy - safe to say I think we’ll see much higher next week if this afternoons political situation continues to deteriorate...If the PEA drops on Tuesday it could really explode.

Amazed we only ended 6% up.

Always difficult to buy these when there are no sellers so that's a good sign. Before Anker and later Garraway were sellers I always used to have to call up to buy - when the PEA lands I guess we will see the real fireworks.
