29/1/2008 13:38 | Ferny, I bet you when that glorious day arrives, people will probably realise that from there, it WILL be a sensible long term investment and only top-slice into profit. | the matador
29/1/2008 13:34 | exit at a profit....yes that would be nice after all these years and having missed out on selling into the spikes because I wanted to be a long term investor here rather than a short temr trader..... | markinthepark
29/1/2008 13:31 | MT I'm long term and don't wish to call for JE's resignation because i'm quite happy with what he is doing and where he is taking the company. I appreciate you have been holding longer than me and have had a personal disagreement with JE and wish to exit this stock preferably at a profit. | redhill
29/1/2008 13:24 | Relishing you talk about patience on this board, do you not realise that all the shareholders on this board are patients! | fernygrade
29/1/2008 13:14 | Mark, but when the company makes a definitive statement, every comment is set in stone as far as investors are concerned. Previous demands by posters here have been "why do they give a date and then let everybody down. Why dont they say an approximate date" etc etc etc. Now they give an approximate date and THAT is set in stone lol! They don't mention the steamer, oooooh, why not? Whats going on? They did mention the steamer! Ooooooh, typical, they've fkucked up! It's always a difficult call pleasing investors, more so Seftoners lol! What is quite obvious though that all the "2006 and 2007" this will be the year's, did not have what is in place now. If they haven't made significant progress by the summer, investors should take a loss imo and put their long standing, no interest earned cash somewhere else! | the matador
29/1/2008 12:53 | Mark forget the gas pipeline that's way down the line, they wont have that completed in 2008 If most of you here intend to sit with this longterm you need to attend the agm and call for JE's resignation imo | mickey take
29/1/2008 12:50 | I noticed that in the last RNS most of references on timing said "during 2008", not 1st qtr or by mid or anything firm so again, it's all rather open ended a bit like the gas pipeline network for steaming having not been laid until propane steaming is proven to work...no indications how long it would take until the gas network would be available to support steaming or even if it would be pursued.....all still a bit too risky with these unknowns I guess | markinthepark
29/1/2008 12:47 | So folks! who's responsible when news like that is issued from the company? | mickey take
29/1/2008 12:44 | MT, yup.....they don't like it when companies try hide not so good news in their releases..... | markinthepark
29/1/2008 12:42 | Matador- you know and I know the reason the market didn't react positively to that statement it was mixed with confusion regarding the steaming. The company as far back as the last agm declared that their priority and efforts were to be on steaming. What they reported was and in my view could land them in hot water that the..steaming was continuing using the chosen gas as propane. When in actual fact the unit was sat their idle and was lacking a part. That's why the market didn't act positively to the news because they felt that they weren't being told the truth. | mickey take
29/1/2008 12:33 | Rel, Because despite all the good news this is trading at all time lows or near to them.....if the news is really so good then why is still selling at 4p levels? | markinthepark
29/1/2008 12:33 | "We are now going to wave our magic wand and make the shareprice rise to 20p"? | relishing
29/1/2008 12:32 | Finishing the year with a strong production increase! Excellent results from the two-well drilling programme! significant improvement in cash flow! What more can they say to appease??? | the matador
29/1/2008 12:31 | Most posters on here have held this share patiently for the past 2-3 years, during which time the company has only laid the groundwork. Now, ironically, when we are at the time in which patience should at last begin to pay off, people seem to be finding it harder to be patient! | relishing
29/1/2008 12:29 | Mickey, "A good oilman is a person who can get the oil out of the ground increase production and profit convey this to the market concisely and do it within the time frame he predicts"? He's got and getting the oil out, he's increasing production and profitability. Conveying it to the market? Well, sorry but I don't think it can get much better than this only two weeks ago: RNS Number:6518L 14 January 2008 Sefton Resources Operations Update Production from Sefton's wholly owned subsidiary TEG USA averaged 193 BOPD during the month of December, 2007, thus finishing the year with a strong production increase at the Tapia Field in California. This increase was due to the excellent results from the two-well drilling programme completed in late November. The two wells, Hartje#16 and Hartje#17 had combined 30 day average initial production rates of 78 BOPD. This increase in oil production, combined with record oil prices, has resulted in a significant improvement in cash flow. | the matador
29/1/2008 12:25 | Its down to not enough investors knowing about its potential and lack of institutional investors. | redhill
29/1/2008 12:21 | I agree with you MT accept leave Stanley Unwin out, much better would be STAN LAUREL. | fernygrade
29/1/2008 12:18 | Bobby.....fair point...but do you believe you know what it is down to in that case? Market conditions or a weak share that can be sold down too easily by anyone who feels like it or something else? | markinthepark
29/1/2008 12:17 | May I assume that you are entirely happy with the directors in consolidating the shares? or you prefer to have 66.666 @ circa 5p than the million shares at what the price should be today a minimum of 8.5p f | fernygrade
29/1/2008 12:17 | Matador- The calls by some here that JE is an good oil man and let him carry on getting the oil out of the ground is complete and utter rubbish. A good oilman is a person who can get the oil out of the ground increase production and profit convey this to the market concisely and do it within the time frame he predicts. Anyone that thinks JDM is controlling matters here is fooling themselves He will have little affect within the workings of the company due to the geographical location; furthermore he has no background or experience of running an oil company. If his contribution is to write the RNS's then we would have done better to employ the services Stanley Unwin | mickey take
29/1/2008 12:15 | MT again fair point, but they may be thinking with the market as it is it is better to wait a little in case good news get lost in the general upheaval. I dont know their exact thinking, there may be a number of reasons they have not issued a trading statement, i'm only just guessing we might get one with rig on site RNS, but as i said before i am prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt rather than hammer them. Since we were at 5.5p earlier this month buys v sells have been equal yet we have shed a penny on the share price - this is not down to the management. | bobbyg2
29/1/2008 12:02 | matador 11841 you missed my post? or like the closely typed 19 page report you aint answering that willreally put you on par with arso | fernygrade |
