22/8/2005 15:51 | IMHO not convinced there is not more to come here. Over the last 3 trading days volume has been very high (I expect some delayed trades to come through today also). Volume has been higher than after the Profit warning, think this is more than a pump and dump. | wallywoo
22/8/2005 15:34 | I know!!! A lot of it seems to come down to how easily conned you are... This share's great, have you bought some yet? ....... ohhh no sorry it isn't great, it's awful, really really awful ..... oh did we say awful? We were just waiting until you'd sold, no we meant fabulous..... Brokers, MMs, punters, the financial press - the whole bloody lot of them. Painful to learn though - and I wouldn't say I was even close yet.... | machoolahan
22/8/2005 15:34 | "Anyone more au fait with the wily schemes of the market makers help us out here?" It's all a fiddle! | snappy
22/8/2005 15:29 | All a bit suss I think johnyee - very low volume (despite the fact I've done well out of it). There were some huge trades last week in the 53-55p range though (several 100,000s worth). Needs to go a few p north of here before I've any belief in its sustainability! Plonk a straight edge on the screen from the April 112p peak down to here and you can see the top of the falling channel (or wedge even) has been hit today at 59-60p Anyone more au fait with the wily schemes of the market makers or "technicals" help us out here? | machoolahan
22/8/2005 13:23 | Is there a reason for the sudden rise? | johnyee7
22/8/2005 13:22 | she-ra, this is old research but still the best explanation I have read on who the shareholder is. Asks more questions than it answers mind ! read the header bit only | wallywoo
22/8/2005 13:04 | Does anyone know anything about this major shareholder? It seems impossible to find information about them. | she-ra
22/8/2005 12:58 | The doom and gloom in the whole IT recruitment sector has been completely overdone recently. A lot of it bought about by SRG's, HVN's and PTY's inabilities to make a profit despite improved trading and general worries about the UK plc outlook. Spring should be very profitable with a turnover north of £400m if only they didn't keep taking the large deals at paltry margins. | snappy
22/8/2005 12:41 | I think that makes the point, thanks she-ra. | clocktower
22/8/2005 12:41 | Not convenient at all she-ra - just trying to be honest about what I recall. I agree it could just be bouncing up but stay within its falling channel. If so 59-60 is the peak so we'll have to wait and see. Long term though I think the doom and gloom has been utterly overdone, but when did market sentiment ever match reality in this game? | machoolahan
22/8/2005 12:35 | machoolahan - How convenient to disagree with me.He did say this could hit the 30's.Obviously you want to edit history and wipe away the fact that CT was neg about Spring when we didnt know how bad things really were.We have seen these rises before only for them to peter out and then take a dive.Spring was even rumoured to be being stalked a few months before the crash.Convenient for some. | she-ra
22/8/2005 12:28 | mac...WTV +++++++++++ and thanks. No other agenda mac..trust me. | clocktower
22/8/2005 12:27 | BTW it's at the top of its falling channel (from 112p!) at the mo. so the next few p's worth of movement should be interesting! If we get to 63p i might even stammer the word "b-b-b-breakout"! | machoolahan
22/8/2005 12:25 | she-ra - I've been avidly watching this thread and CT said no such thing. He did however call it down to the 50s with amazing accuracy. The posts from you in the last few months have been cryptic to say the least. After the first fall you were bull-ish - citing the large cash-pile in the bank - then after the second fall you were bear-ish pointing out the poor profit record in the last several years. Now you are saying "it's a volatile old stock, this". Someone else adopted a similar position and then sold in the high 40s as I remember - and then went instantly bear-ish. Thing is all this is rather post-hoc! What do you think of it now? Do you find it over-priced, under-priced or about right? And do you have a position as such? None of the rest matters as anyone with a chart can see what has already happened.... | machoolahan
22/8/2005 12:24 | clocktower - You never said that when you were predicting it could hit the 30's (at the time when we didnt know how bad things had got at Spring!) | she-ra
22/8/2005 12:23 | 8.2% up so far she-ra. I think I have made the basis of info clear to mac. I really have nothing to say about Spring and co at this time bar that they were a company that in my view could be a huge asset to any business if run by the right management. | clocktower
22/8/2005 12:17 | clocktower - You did say it could get in 30's I have previously shown where you have said it. What info have you gained Clocktower.I see no new info since your 30's prediction. | she-ra
22/8/2005 12:07 | she-ra..please show the post that you say I made that prediction in its full glory...not editted. Upwards and onwards.. but please do not suggest this is a ramp as it only the way I see it from info being gained along the way. | clocktower
22/8/2005 12:03 | Must be a sell going thru to lower price mm s should have plenty of stock so no need to tree shake imho | mykai
22/8/2005 12:01 | clocktower - What made you change your 30p prediction?Things have got worse since that prediction. | she-ra
22/8/2005 12:00 | Thanks she-ra but I do expect it to bounce a little before it breaks though 60p before reaching the level. This at least represents an oppertunity for sellers like yourself she or those that take a more positive view like myself. | clocktower
22/8/2005 11:43 | clocktower - You could be right but Spring is prone to wild swings. | she-ra
22/8/2005 11:40 | Thank you she-ra, I will take aboard all you have had to say and thank you for your concern. Note I have not ramped this stock and I know of nobody that has to my knowledge, all I have done is to make a suggestion to mac, that used to work for Spring. No more no less, I think mac is happy as is mykai, so why not buy or sell a few and tell us which please she-ra. I do not even expect you to post your buys or sells. However, so you can roast me if I am wrong, I say its going up a lot yet. | clocktower
22/8/2005 11:32 | "you and I know full well that this is going up a lot yet" No.Why? "what I expect will be a big rise in the share price " So that prediction of 30p was just to get the share price down so that you could buy in at a cheaper price? As for knowing that something will be printed in the press I dont. It's just I have seen small amounts of shares traded in companies only for a rumour to be printed that never materialises with large selling over the following days. I remember a company was reported to have been stalked and even one newspaper said they were phoned by an excitable investor suggesting they were about to be taken over only for bad news to emerge in the following days. As for what you think will be a continuing trend in the share price,I would like to remind you of activity in Spring share price weeks before that profits warning.Shares were being bought, there was a rise over 70p and then a crash. This is a volatile stock and you must'nt read too much into wild swings as they have happened before. | she-ra
22/8/2005 11:29 | I hope there is a big rise bought a few of these last week bottom ffishing | mykai |
