SDX is not mature enough to pay dividends.

At this stage in its life-cycle its objectives are
1) achieve financial self sufficiency
2) continue exploration of existing acreage
3) develop discoveries
4) acquire additional acreage/assets

It needs to repeat steps 2-4 until it achieves critical mass and is truly self sufficient and big enough to withstand the run of bad luck which is normal in the
industry.

Only then can it divert its cashflow from building the business to paying dividends.

There is nothing remotely unusual in the above - it is standard operating procedure for small E&P's. None of them pay dividends. Nor should they. I don't invest in them for a 5% divi. I invest for a multi-bag return from successful exploration. If they can afford both an aggressive explo programme and a divi that's fine but if they have to choose between those two options, then it's a no brainer.

Why pay a dividend when still raising money. Much rather the profits are reinvested in the business for now. Maybe in year or two when assets have grown and been brought on stream.

Why don't SDX pay any dividend - ever? They could patently afford to.

Still plagued by sellers into any strength. My take on it is that some of the early stage investors are still getting out to invest in some new as yet unquoted opportunities. Absolutely standard stuff which says nothing at all about how SDX are doing or what institutions think of them.

These sellers do finish eventually and the usual pattern is that there is a hefty rerating pretty quickly when they do.

I remain quietly confident that this will be an excellent performer over the next year. It could well be that production and cashflow from South Disouq in the fourth quarter is the trigger.

Paul Welch, President and CEO of SDX, commented:

"We are very pleased with the test results of the SD-3X well as it exceeded our expectations. The well is located the furthest down dip on the structure and had the least amount of pay when compared to the two offset wells. We therefore limited both the test duration and peak rates to ensure that no damage was done to the well whilst testing it. The well performed in line with the offsets even with the reduced pay section. We are now very confident that we can achieve the peak rates at the planned facility at South Disouq of 60MMscfd of conventional natural gas with our current well stock. We intend to connect this well to infrastructure located adjacent to our SD-1X discovery over the coming months. We are targeting a late Q4 2018 start-up of production in South Disouq.

The rest of our portfolio of assets continues to perform well and I look forward to updating our shareholders on all of our activity when we release our Q2 results on August 28, 2018."

Stick your neck out as far as you want - and you’re probably right - but they haven’t committed to buy it YET.

For me SDX just need to prove their revenue stream. I’m confident that they’ll hit the 8k production figure, but have no idea who’s buying it yet... when that’s clear then this will rerate.

Oh yeah, this is massively undervalued if you ask me. Been here since February 2017 and since then the fundamentals and cash-flow have improved a lot and the growth potential is really very large. But the share price is really not that much higher.
