Based on previous drill times, we could well be due another result this week.

Handy to have in the back pocket if the current 3D shoot throws up a load more drilling targets

Hi Tournesol I hope that is the case and as already mentioned preferable to further dilution.

It's a pretty small loan. I'm guessing its an opportunistic thing and that the interest rate is very favourable?

I had assumed SDX would be 'self financing' for at least another year. I realise there were legacy issues with collection of Egypt related debt but past presentations have conveyed confidence and local connections as in hand. This is highlighted for Morocco but is anyone else not a little surprised ?

Maybe they need to use their cash pile for an acquisition?

I view this credit agreement as great news. It basically means SDX intend to develop and grow through gearing and not dilution. Very happy with that.

RNS says its just a bank loan.

Clearly the French article was using language rather loosely.

what is more important to me is that this shareholder means medium term monetization - EXIT

I would be glad to pump up Morocco operations and sell it at a premium due to high margins, high growth, good infrastructure and connections of the superb shareholder

and then a divi or capital redeployment

We'll (maybe) see in the morning....& of course, it's unclear whether SDX Energy or SDX Energy Morocco is increasing its capital.. or working capital?

The French article says that SDX will increase its capital by 10 million. Presumably that means its share capital and that implies that SDX will be issuing new shares for which the bank will be subscribing. Strictly speaking the money received by SDX for new shares is accounted for under 2 headings - share capital and share premium. The first represents the "face value" of the shares and the second represents the difference between face value and issue price. It's unclear if the article is talking about share capital alone - or (capital + premium). If the former then the total investment would end up significantly higher than if the latter.

When I worked in France I was amused/bemused by the way companies were at pains to mention how much share capital they had. Often the figure was printed as part of their letter head. "Company X, Share Capital € nnn million" kind of thing. I found it pretty meaningless - far less useful than the market cap figure for example.

Going by the last set of accounts SDX have two currently wholly owned subsidiaries with Morroco in the name.

shakey - they could be taking an interest just in SDX's Moroccan arm.

Anybody written to the company to ask for the context?

Thanks Duckdown. So can't be a loan by the sounds of things. Either direct purchase
of shares either on the market or private transaction or a placing.

I speak French - it's worded as an investment but it will be interesting to see the terms. Looks very positive.

Guess the company can't announce it until it's been signed off...

That's what I take from it too TGG. It's specifically aimed at Morocco if the way I am reading the article is correct.

The article twice refers to "SDX Energy Morocco", which is either a mistake by the journo, or is referring to an investment in SDX's Moroccan subsidiary?

I don't think it's really possible to work out what the article is actually saying regarding how SDX will get $10m (ie. loan, grant, placing etc) unless one is able to fluently read French.
