didn't notice that!
...still applicable though, maybe even more now, must have been a long term view ;-)
not sure that oil has topped just yet, when rising in the winter months it often hits a peak around April at the end of the western winter but no guarantee of course since there are so many factors at play

Some murmurings that the div will be cut.

Calabrain. At that price I think you have done ok. My last SSE buy 1360 ho hum. Still a good Divi stock.

I'm in. A divi share for me. Carillion bites the dust. SSE boring and defensive. Hope the utility cap doesn't hurt too much.

Hi GaryCook,

I've decided it's time to join you here - bought my first 1.5K shares today. Divi looks too good to ignore. Off topic - check out MCRO - another recovery situation I bought into yesterday and today.

Look at the cna chart. I hope this is not falling off a cliff edge here. Is the cavalry about to come?

Added at 1288. May drop further but I hope will turn out to be a bargain when I look back in 2019.

Bought a chunk yesterday at 1295. Current div of c7.05%. They'll go into the LTBH/'retirement portfolio'. Utilities are going to be a political football, esp when the government majority is thin; but, despite the talk, I can't see the UK returning to the socialism/nationalisation/government destruction of the 1970s.
