SAN FRANCISCO, June 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The Charles Schwab
Corporation released its Monthly Market Activity Report today. Company
highlights for the month of May 2005 include:
* Net new assets brought to the Company by new and current
clients in May 2005 totaled $3.9 billion.
* Total client assets of $1.092 trillion as of month-end May
represent a new record, up 11% from May 2004 and up 3% from
April 2005. In comparison, the Schwab 1000 Index(R) was up 7%
from May 2004 and up 3% from April 2005.
* Client daily average trades, which include daily average
revenue trades (DART), Schwab Institutional(R) asset-based
trades and Schwab Private Client(TM) asset-based trades, were
190.3 thousand in May 2005, up 27% from May 2004 and down 7%
from April 2005. DART totaled 169.4 thousand in May 2005,
up 25% from May 2004 and down 7% from April 2005.
