CONGO-K
BGP

The affiliate of the China National Petroleum Corp (CNPC) for geophysics operations, BGP, is well placed to win a seismic contract for block 3 operated by Total alongside South Africa's Sacoil and Dig Oil in the east of Democratic Republic of Congo. (...)

The issue over drilling Congo is a little unclear .In the company website it states that it will be the 3 rd quarter but under the headlining Congo in 2013 it states the first quarter.Mindfulof the fact we still haven't shot 2D seismic perhaps Q1 is over optimistic.Third quarter would be fine for me.huge potential.

Bronislav,

I am sorry to inform you that is NOT the latest from Vela, that article is from last year when he thought Sacoil would drill at the start of 2013. They haven't even done the seismic yet!!!

Well I didn't see it until yesterday after hours and I expect many have not seen it yet. I made another substantial purchase yesterday and that buy has still not yet shown.
We will also enter Mozambique soon. I tried to work out Vela's accent from that old interview. Clearly a well educated guy. From his name I suspect his family is from Mozambique.

maxakoff,

I think the timing of the disposal of Sacoils non-core Greenhills Plant speaks volumes...and I would hazard a guess some corporate activity soon or indeed over the next couple of months. IMHO.

Did you guys even read the latest presentation? The 2013 schedule states that the first well in Block 3 DRC will spud in Q3 of next year...and the first well in Nigeria will spud at around the same time.

Have a feeling Sacoil will be part of a bigger concern by then...ie, sale/ takeover/reverse takeover or merger with another African focused O&G company.

30th November 2012 (AGM Presentation)

"Strategic need to 'bulk up' is recognised and being evaluated by the board – institutional investors now looking at minimum size investments in medium sized entities with materiality. Strategic review underway with all options being considered".

Congo .drilling could start in the first quarter of next .Not sure of duration of drill but if they can prove up the 3 billion barrels of oil sac would have no problem raising cash and what would that amount of oil do for the share price Not sure if total is one of the supermajors involved with vialogy but their tech could pretty guarantee finding the oil if it is there. We could also have news from Nigeria so all in all 2013 could be a good year for sac.

I see the haters getting more desperate. This company has fantastic assets and is one of the most bombed out oil & gas stocks. If they start making progress on any of their assets the share price could be multiples of what it is today. Aimho, nai.

The DRC is a massive country though basically larger than the whole of western europe put together. So fighting in one part of the country would most probably have no effect on the drilling of an oil well in another part of the country.

Shame they're in the middle of a civil war at the moment.
