b+, I prefer to take the mickey out of you next week.

word of advise ... use the weekend to try thinking about saying something useful on SFOR, which you never do... like buy/sell ... that kind of thing.

Surprise this board and prove it to us that you are capable of some very, very, very basic thinking.

Atta boy

Sure, no guarantee good professionals and high packages guarantee business success but you can bet your bottom dollar that low packages and below average individuals will make sure success remains elusive.

Wasn't SMS the highest paid CEO within FTSE 100 once upon a time if I remember correctly...so why the business struggling...you can throw money at them but that doesn't necessarily mean they will out perform...if the macro economic/sector or rate environment is against it...

question: how exactly would you suggest inviting a senior professional to join a struggling business unless you pay top, top, top dollar? in the real world you have zero chance unless you make it very attractive.

RR close to an all high high.
Market cap at £35bn.
When the shares were over £12 the market cap was a bit over £20bn.

After the discounted rights issue there were many more shares in circulation.

josh54,

Market dynamics also play apart with Rolls, they used to be £8 a share didn't they.

Sold mine too early at £2.50, but I bought them cheap.

top flight CFO for £250k?!

absolute nonsense

you need to multiply that base x2 for a ftse250 business and min 3x for a ftse 100. you're not being realistic at all.

btw, do you have any experience hiring a CFO for a listed business??

Firstly, she is being rewarded for failure ( options at 40.5p )

Secondly you can hire a top flight CFO for £250k plus shares and bonus no problem at all !!

did you email the company the above at the time of hiring? If so what was their take?

if not, why didn't you sell - there's always that option if you don't like anything about the company?

I am hundered percent behind the deal made to Mr Berty because if he can take the share price to 2 pounds he rightly deserves, but Mary Basterfield's track record hardly deserves praise,

If you have a valid counterargument, please make it but be as precise as you can as in what would you have done differently if you were in MS' shoes? Saying this is unfair doesn't make the cut. One needs more than that to make an argument

tongosti,

josh54 certainly does know the difference because he is right, she is way over paid and is ultimately responsible for being able to take options at 40.5p

I have been offered more to sell than I can buy this stock at just now for several quotes. Perhaps there is demand and they need shares ?
