20/5/2005 18:38 | All the flurry of sells that knocked the price was down to the Fleet Street Letter that has it still as a tip but shifted its advice to take profits, consequently they still have it in their portfoio as a hold, so expect another flurry if they say sell all or - possibly buy more! - you never know. I see the company statement today counters their claim that the car finance may take a hit. This is a long hold for me, has always delivered in the long term and a graet dividend. Cheers | remraf
18/5/2005 11:13 | The sudden drop a couple of days ago put it well below my current buy price target, but assumed we were about to get a profit warning or other such bad news. Although I suspect the auto-loan business is doing a lot better than is generally expected, the threat of punitive regulation (esp. in view of the recent high street bank shenanigans) should knock the shareprice lower. Will wait for the dust to settle I think... | taylor20
18/5/2005 10:31 | Well that's another way of putting it! The answer is I don't know but the movement is clearly related to trading activity. There's usually negligible volume and then a burst of activity in the past 2 days (look at the 5-day chart). No clue what's causing it but several people clearly think they know something! Regards, Ian | jeffian
18/5/2005 09:52 | WTF is going on with this share?! | taylor20
16/5/2005 10:18 | Well whatever it was produced quite a little flurry of trading this morning in a stock which usually sees little activity. Whassup? Regards, Ian | jeffian
16/5/2005 08:53 | another tipster no doubt and the lemmings follow - will be looking to buy soon! | verynervy
01/4/2005 09:06 | No idea atall! At the time I supposed that someone knew about better than expected results. But I suppose it takes little buying to produce a relatively high shift if the price! | verynervy
31/3/2005 09:24 | Yes excellent results, nice to see the realistic outlook and acknowledgement of the various risks to the business and profitibility. Still no position, considering the risks I think this is fair value for the company. I'm still hoping that some of those risks will put some fear into the market sometime later this year - a nice opportunity to buy in. Any idea what caused the minor rally in the shareprice last month? | taylor20
31/3/2005 08:42 | And results have indeed proved good, as expected! | verynervy
25/2/2005 12:23 | Looking promising. | taylor20
05/2/2005 16:08 | Well gents cattles is flying of late this company are on the recovery leg so why no fireworks? buyers are definitely missing Topped up last week on price drop! I think they will produce very good results! | verynervy
27/1/2005 20:01 | True. 8 quid would do it for me. 8-) Regards, Ian | jeffian
27/1/2005 18:38 | Ian - I agree. Although everybody has their price.... | philjeans
26/1/2005 16:41 | philjeans, Ref takeover prospects, remember that this is effectively family controlled (Coombs pere & fils both in there as Chairman/CEO respectively). Regards, Ian | jeffian
26/1/2005 16:22 | Ticking up again - no trades reported. Yet. Fashionable kind of share currently; high yield; solid earnings stream and a very ready and eager market. Should easily exceed £6.50 by results. | philjeans
24/1/2005 18:29 | Chart looks very strong; can it break well clear to re-test the highs of 2002? Oh yes - solid earnings and a high yield. Could be a take-over target too....... | philjeans
18/1/2005 08:26 | Yes I hope, looking to add afew more. | verynervy
17/1/2005 15:13 | Nice little Director share-purchase just before the year-end (31/1/05). Do we take it things are going well down at SUS? 8-) Regards, Ian | jeffian
01/12/2004 12:29 | Looks to have established a trading range which is unusual for this stock! | verynervy
17/9/2004 22:14 | Yes, bought LAS and BISI some time before that, remraf: both did brilliantly, still holding BISI (unfortunately sold LAS too soon, another mistake). :-( | diogenesj
17/9/2004 21:52 | I'm still holding! (see my post 25 March no. 250) anyone else buy LAS or BISI? Small caps are fine if you see a long-term growth story and don't jump in and out as the spread will always kill you. I've held COST and DEVO for over 12 months, glad I didn't bail in and out of them otherwise I'd have lost my gains - why jump about if the story and figs remain good - heed what the SAGE says!Wish I'd bought BISI @ £1 when I bought LAS at 0.56p - still, can't have them all, currently holding INS, Moulton is usually right or has something up his sleeve! Cheers all! | remraf
17/9/2004 13:19 | DJ ACE is amongst your recommendations that I have belately followed! | alfwilson
17/9/2004 12:57 | Well, mad4IT, you can see what I was saying in December 02 above! Had you posted your comments then, I think I would have said broadly the same ("prepared to wear short-term fluctuations as long as the long-term trend is upward") but I take your point that I would have been unable to trot out evidence then that the long-term returns were OK. However, I did have the continuing benefit of a reasonably secure divi to ease the pain, so you'll be glad to hear my living standards didn't suffer while waiting for the recovery! 8-) Once I 'buy the story' about a share, I tend to run with it either until the story changes or the price achieves a level which IMHO prices in all the prospects and has nowhere to go. Regards, Ian | jeffian
17/9/2004 11:47 | Good point, Fred, and a truly sensible post. Even I now have problems with liquidity on some of these small stocks, and often find I am running to stand still. And the spread is a real killer. Alf: lol. Credit where credit is due. I'm relieved to hear you didn't take my advice on VCP. Some of my other tips weren't so bad (LAS for example). | diogenesj
17/9/2004 11:30 | my reluctance to invest in small cap stocks has incresed since i began this thread, mainly because i have made much more money and liquidity has evolved to become an important consideration. i didn't reinvest in sus at the recent low point, but i don't regret it. liquidity is a problem for serious amounts of money, after all the reason why it has shot up on low volume is for that very reason -(check market size now and you will see what i mean). This is a good share to buy in market size x 5 say, when nobody wants it but any larger is asking for trouble - and the spread is rarely less than 20p! | ydderf |
